Default Am I missing something?

I am curious why so many veterans and non veterans alike have such a problem with John Kerry's war record. You can't be saying that he didn't get hit with ENOUGH shrapnel while Goerge and Dick weasled out of the whole thing. And as for what he did when he got back it seems pretty thoughtful and brave to me. He pointed out the problems with a war that was not necessary and going badly and it turned out he was right. Sounds like a guy that would think twice before spending 200 billion and 1,000 plus lives to find a guy in a hole. Maybe it's just me.

And I hope you think the same thing about me in 2032. I'm in Iraq while I'm writing this and I can't wait to go back to join anti-war protesters. I'm a soldier and I support the troops. I'm a soldier and I support my country. I'm a soldier and I love America. I'm a soldier and I support our military. And, yes, I'm a soldier, but I'm capable of thinking on my own and realize that this war is a mistake, it's wrong.
Do you know what's the hardest thing of being here in Iraq?? Be doing something I don't believe in.

VIVA KERRY!!!

Its just you. Read "Unfit for Command", no 1 on the NY times Best Sellers

There is one thing that is a common characteristic among Americans. And only one word can describe it. It's called HONOR.

It doesn't matter to the overwhelming majority of Americans if George Bush or Dick Cheney went to Viet Nam. Or if they ever served in the military. Many honorable Americans have never served in the armed forces of this country. Many of our past Presidents never served in the military. They are still patriots & still considered honorable.

When a candidate purposely Front & Centers his 3-1/2 month tour of duty in Viet Nam. He then "claims" to be a 3 purple heart, 1 bronze & 1 silver star medal winner. Then is caught lying about being in Cambodia. Then it is found out that John Kerry received a band aid for a his first purple heart, which was self inflicted, not under enemy fire, as reported by Kerry. Kerry then comes back home to throw those medals over the White House fence. Kerry then makes statements which betrays his comrades who are still fighting in Viet Nam, or are POW'S. All for nothing more than personal political gain.

No one can say that Kerry has HONOR. Kerry is without the American characteristic, HONOR.

President Bush will win in a landslide. Because President Bush has HONOR.

Huh? That's not even a sentence.

He didn't just claim to win these, he in fact DID win them. They're part of his official record.

"Caught lying"? I don't know about the band-aid, but none of the other stuff has been proven irrefutably, with Kerry being confronted directly and given a chance to respond to specific allegations. Until that happens you're talking about an argument where evidence has been presented by only one side - a side with an agenda.

As buckeyewader said, it took courage for Kerry to stand up the way he did and speak out against a war that turned out to be a big mistake. He didn't betray anyone, in fact just the opposite... his antiwar activities helped convince the government to end the war, which in turn would bring Kerry's comrades home ALIVE!!!!

What proof do you have of this? Obviously it's just an opinion - rhetoric that serves Kerry's enemies.

Kerry has honor. There, I said it - provng that you are a liar.

He served honorably in the Senate for twenty years .... served honorably in Vietnam (as just about every prominent politician from BOTH parties has publicly stated) ... does that mean anything?

And by the way, two of the people chiefly responsible for thrusting your boy O'Neill into the limelight back in '71 were Coffey and Nixon, and between the two of them one went to jail and one was impeached. So there's some of the HONOR behind the allegations against Kerry.

The only reason president Bush is even in the White House in the first place, and not pumping gas somewhere, is because of his father. Period.
