Yes, actually, you can. Special Forces really means special tactics but the reason these forces are kept small is due mainly to the secrecy of their missions and due to their brutal deployment schedules. Not many are willing to maintain the pace required in this units.

I guess. Which leads me to a question. Now before I answer, I'd like to put a halt on all those "Anti-America" following replies. I actually think it's a legitimate question.

How does one orchestrate & win a war on "terror"?

If you're focus is ending terrorism... then how is that possible? It's my belief that for every one person you kill, you (*)(*)(*)(*) off two more (likely friends or family)... thus creating more enemies. A war on terror, IMO, is doomed from the beginning... because an extreme opposition will never be completely destroyed.

Well.....that sort of definition makes me very uncomfortable because after all, just about anyone can be branded a terrorist.

Not to mention the fact that out of all the killed, maimed, displaced Iraqis I doubt very many were actually doing any harboring.

Your guessing seems to be the main problem here.

By "stay tuned", I am saying that we have no way of knowing where the war on terror will take us. I'm not invited to any national security meetings and neither are you.

I'm not sure we ever end terrorism. I pray it does end one day, but who knows? I am certainly thankful, however, that we chose to fight it rather than remain passive to it.

Well, YOU clearly are not.

Next time you feel like changing the subject, you just rock on there, t.

BTW-- which one of us served as a Navy corpsman with a Marine unit for almost 3 years. Which one of us was in the Navy for almost 9. You, or me?
And you learned nothing obviously. I didn't even serve and I know that you just can’t make regular GIs into special forces troops at the drop of a hat. We don’t need a troop surge in Afghanistan. Your non sequitur argument aside.

When did I mention a drop of a hat? I believe I said they could be retrained.

Please keep your arguments, such as they are, grounded in facts.
