Default Obama continues free fall in Florida

Obama is now down 6 points, and Bush won the state by 5 points in 2004.

Results of SurveyUSA Election Poll #14190

Florida, Three Months Out -- Sun Shines on McCain: In an election in critical swing-state Florida for President of the United States today, 08/04/2008, Republican John McCain defeats Democrat Barack Obama, 50% to 44%, according to this latest SurveyUSA poll pre-election poll conducted exclusively for WFLA-TV Tampa and WKRG-TV Pensacola. Obama leads by 9 points in Southeastern Florida, where he takes 52% of the vote; McCain takes 52% of the vote in Central Florida, 53% in Southwestern Florida, 55% in the northeastern Florida, and 59% in Northwestern Florida. Among voters younger than Barack Obama, who turns 47 years old today, Obama leads by 5 points. Among voters older than John McCain, who turns 72 at the end of the month, McCain leads by 13. Among voters in-between their ages, McCain leads by 14. Among white voters, McCain leads by 19 points. Among black voters, Obama leads by 68. Hispanics favor Obama by 60 points. McCain leads among both men and women, among both college grads and non-college grads, among both those who earn less than $50,000 a year and among those who earn more than $50,000 a year.

Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 Florida adults 08/01/08 through 08/03/08. Of them, 830 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 679 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely voters in the 11/04/08 general election. Florida has 27 Electoral College votes. George Bush carried Florida by 5 points in 2004 and by one one hundredth of a point in 2000.

Oh great, another selective poll thread.

The trend:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo...418.html#polls

Your beloved Rasmussen, in a poll done two weeks ago, showed Obama up 2 points. A Quinnipac poll that closed *two days* before the poll you cite also showed Obama up 2 points.

The only recent polls showing McCain up *at all* are this SurveyUSA poll and a partisan Republican poll from June.

It's fair to say that the race is tight.

As befits a propagandist, the "free fall" bit is completely made up. Considering that Rasmussen had McCain leading by *15 points* back in April, and Obama has never had a lead of greater than 5 (in June), I'd think it's McCain who suffered the free fall, and it's McCain who should worry that he's having to fight to establish a tenuous lead in the state. Somehow his 15-point lead evaporated, and now its neck and neck in a state that Bush won by 5 in 2004.

But mostly I just wish people would quit placing such stock on individual polls taken three months before the election.

Two weeks ago Obama had not been seen by most people, so was popular. Now that is failed foreign rip has exposed him as a fraud, he's falling fast everywhere.

If Obama isn't up by 15 points soon, he's toast.

Yes, why?

Are you referring to the fart Obama tried in Germany, but he only succeeded in ruining his underwear?

A failed rip is a bummer, especially in front of the Germans.

This might be good news...if the Dems actually decide to count some votes from Florida.
