I believe that the majority of people on this board paid more than 12% of their total income in income taxes last year. But, John & Teresa Heinz Kerry who reported approximately 7 million in income only paid 12%.

The President & his wife paid out 28% of their income, which their yearly income was considerably less than the Kerry's.


Maybe, Kerry is going to bring a plan to the floor of the senate to MAKE HIMSELF & HIS WIFE PAY OUT MORE IN INCOME TAXES, versus the rest of us?

But, I kind of doubt it.

Well, you know how those big, bad rich people are. They're always scamming the rest of us!!!

But I will say...

That up until now:

Ms Heinz was a republican.
VERY anti-union.
Supported NAFTA.

And now....

A lot of our ketchup is harvested and processed in Mexico (and other countries) due to the high cost of labor and insurance in the states.

The true hypocrisy of some is due to their lack of knowledge.

I'll let the liberals research the Heinz corporation. I don't really oppose what they've done. It's just business.

...which means she donates more to charity, is smarter about her finances, has better accountants, or any number of other possibilities.

Are any of these things a crime? Don't you look to pay the least amount of income tax you possibly can, or do you try to pay more than you have to?

Maybe she doesn't like the way the government is spending her money, and she doesn't think they deserve any more of it than they're legally entitled to.

We conservatives have no problem with lower taxes... What we have a problem with is a person who wants to RAISE taxes but uses loopholes to pay much less than comparable people....
