Default The Audacity of Ambition

While speaking before the Veterans for Foreign Wars (VFW) national convention the other day, McCain chided Obama for his political ambition.

Quote:
"Behind all of these claims and positions by Senator Obama," McCain said, "lies the ambition to be president.
Well, that's very nice Mr. McCain. Why don't you tell us why YOU want to be president? To save the world? To spread democracy? To fix our broken political system? To rebuild our economy? To return America to its former standing as a powerful and respected country?

Quote:
"I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I'd had the ambition for a long time." -- from John McCain's book Worth the Fighting For
There you have it folks. In his own words. John McCain wants to be president because, uh.... it's good to be the king.

All Mr. McCain is after is power and attention. He's so desperately in need of toadies and sycophants to feed his perverted ego, that he's willing to lie, cheat, and steal to attain his one and only goal = to be president. As he plainly states, there is nothing more to it than that.

Pure. Blind. Selfish. Ambition.

And so is every other politician including Obama. That is the nature of what they do its called politics. The hard part is figuring out which one will do the most good for the people in the process of their ambitions for power.

If a person tells you he/she is running for office for any reason other than to get elected, they're lying.

Of course ambition is part of the reason anyone runs for president. Don't you find it hypocritical that McCain wags a finger at Obama over it?

Mr. McCain has just made the figuring quite easy: he's stated flatly that he's not interested in doing the most good for the people. He's not interested in political reform. He's not on some patriotic mission to restore America to its former standing in the world.

He's doing it for the glory of being "President McCain" and NOTHING else.

Kids. In his VFW speech he SCOLDS Obama for doing what he has ADMITTED, ON TAPE, to doing.

No problem with that?

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. There is no speculation.

So what if he has ambition so does Obama. Where did he say it was for the glory of the Presidency or that he wants to be president because of the gloriousness of the position?
