Palin: Not Ready For Prime Time

Despite having five months and change to select a vice presidential nominee, it looks for all the world as if the insane McCain campaign rushed Sarah Palin out into the limelight after a sloppy, haphazard vetting process--or, possibly, none at all!--and before she was really ready. This, of course, speaks to the inherently faulty judgement of the man himself, since this was actually his first semi-executive decision which he apparently dilly-dallied around with until the last possible moment. (Did you know he was a POW in the Vietnam conflict? Didja? Didja?) So Chuck Todd of MSNBC announced that she'll be going "into seclusion" to see her son off to Iraq.

This doesn't pass the smell test; something is rotten in Anchorage.

Is this woman ready for prime time or not? They keep talking about all her "experience." Well, she was the one-term mayor of a wide spot in the road called Wasilla, Alaska, population 6700 according to cityofwasilla.com. She left that tiny burg saddled with $20 million in debt from a land deal which she supervised...and botched. But she was the biggest earmark sucker in the country. She is the current governor of Alaska and apparently gave them some of the highest per capita earmarks funding of any American state.

(When even the Moonie-owned Washington Times is asking questions about her propensity toward earmarks, it's gotten REALLY out of hand!) She backed the "Road to Nowhere" and the "Bridge to Nowhere". Are THESE the traits we want in a woman who will be a heartbeat away from the presidency of a cranky old coot with a predisposition to cancer??

You know that empty acceptance speech that nonetheless had the media swooning? It was constructed by former special assistant to our current presidential embarrassment, Matthew Scully, a long-time rightwad hack who's worked in the same capacity for Dan Quayle, Beelzebub Cheney and the late governor of Pennsylvania, Robert P. Casey. It had all the towering cynicism I've come to expect from the latter-day Republican Party, all the snotty scurrilous attacks, all the innuendo and outright intolerance that is their hallmark. Now, I didn't expect Palin to write her own words...only Barack Obama does THAT...but I sort of expected something of her in it. No such luck. She was coached and the material was standard issue, nasty neocon propaganda with a healthy dash of vitriol.

What has thus far been revealed about her private life demonstrates that she's about as far to the right as she can go without becoming Attila the Hun. She's a hard-bitten creationist and an abortioNazi with the unshakable conviction that the Iraq Oil invasion was "God's will." Oh, yeah, and that gays can be converted, too. (Now James Dobson LOVES her!) I'm sorry, but this woman scares the daylights out of me. She's in favor of abstinence only sex education, yet her 17-year-old daughter is unmarried and just a little bit knocked up. Way to go with the "Family Values," lady.

In a recent fundraising solicitation, Palin blasted "Obama/Biden Democrats," claiming vicious personal attacks on herself and her family. When challenged, spokespeople for the campaign and the RNC could only cite Mark Bubriski's claim that she supported Pat Buchanan...which, by the way, is TRUE!

No...this wench is NOT ready for prime time.

As far as her daughter is concerned...SARAH PALIN is the one who put this information out there...or did you forget this important little detail in your mad rush to trash "liberals?" Are you so filled with the poisons freely distributed on AM Hate Radio that you've lost all possibility of rationality? Where do you think this photo came from if it DIDN'T come from the Palin family?

And what in the name of Cthulhu does "equality, diversity and acceptance" have to do with ANY part of what we're talking about here???

Your original post is filled with so many personal insults to conservatives and Reupublicans that I don't know how you expect anyone to take you seriously. What happened to you to make you so angry?

1. Palin may have supported the bridge and road to no where but she changed her position and did something for the people!

2. I don't like that Wassila got so many federal dollars but I am not going to agree with everything that a candidate does.

3. I don't believe you when you say that Palin distributed the picture of her daughter. She where and how she did that. Until then you are just a typical conspirator willing to destroy the reputation of anyone in your way in any way you can. Palin should not be held responsible for what her nearly adult daughter does.

4. You ignored her actually record of reform in Alaska and what she has done for the people there.

5. Her energy policy will actually accomplish something. Obama's won't.

Also don't you find it odd that you have to attack her so much? You are spending more energy attacking her than McCain. Could this because she has energized our party's base more than Biden has energized yours? Could this be because more than half of America has a favorable opinion of her? Could it be because you are scared?

Fear makes people do funny things. In this case, I think the proper response of the Palin fans is to say, "See you in November."

No one here is smearing Palin. Palin has opened herself up to scrutiny because she is running for VP. No one gives the Enquirer a whole lot of weight.

Palin's politics, abuse of power and facts--her own words and actions will sink her with no smear campaign necessary.
