It is not the creation of the media!!! Their have been many "doctrines" in american history. They come about with each major shift in american foreign policy. We had the Monroe doctrine, then the truman doctrine, some doctrines in between, and now the bush doctrine. All it is is the general way we deal with foreign policy as a nation.

Honestly, you guys are losing it. That is the most forced nervous laugh I've ever seen.

I've heard "Bush Doctrine" discussed countless times. In every single instance, it referred to the idea of preemptive war. The only people buying the spin from the Right on this are the people who didn't know what it meant before this controversy began. Everyone else who pays the slightest attention to foreign policy philosophy knows exactly what's meant in a discussion of the "Bush Doctrine".

Your contention that Palin actually DID know what it meant and that it was Gibson who made the gaffe is just beyond absurd.

I read the article before I posted in this thread!! It is partisan hackery to the extreme. The bush doctrine is a verifiable set of principles, with which bush has handled American foreign policy. How is that a media creation? Nonsense!!
