This entire post was very poinient and insightful. I agreed with it in its entirety and just wanted to highlight this particularly brilliant observation.

What I would like to add to this is that President Bush upon being re-elected received a majority of the popular vote unlike President Clinton in his re-election bid:

_________________Popular Votes_____Percentage______States________Electors

Clinton (1996)_____47,402,357_______49.24%__________31+DC_________379

Bush (2004)_______62,040,610_______50.7%___________31____________286

This is why I think that the poll regarding a presidents job approval is completely inaccurate or useless. Clinton received less that 50% of the popular vote when his job approval rating was 57%
http://www.gallup.com/poll/109570/Bu...Inches-33.aspx

while Bush recieved 50+% of the popular vote when his job approval rating was only 42% points.

Quote:
President Bush's job approval rating has fallen to the lowest level of his presidency, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll. ...

The survey, which showed Mr. Bush's approval rating at 42 percent
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpag...55c0a9629c8b63
Either the polls are incredibly inacurate unintentionally or the pollsters are intentionally misleading the public to promote their candidate. Given the comparison between the above elections results, I would be willing to bet the latter is true.

Notice how there is an 8 point difference in each of the results:

__________Approval Rating_____Popular Vote
Clinton_________57%____________49%
Bush___________42%____________50%

In order for one to believe these results, one must believe that 57% of the public liked Clinton but 51% were not willing to vote for him, and that 58% of the public disliked Bush, but only 49% were not willing to vote for him.

What this means is that 8% of people who liked Clinton voted against him, and that 8% of people who disliked Bush voted for him. The results defy all logic.

Love this part! I would not say it defies logic it just reinforces my point further. There was so little confidence in the democratic candidate that people who were adamantly opposed to Bush voted for him anyway for fear of Kerry being elected. That says a lot.

Well the polling results are just so counter-intuitive. I suppose it could be possible that 8% of people that liked Clinton sat at home and didn't vote that day, and that 8% of people that dislike Bush also sat at home. Whatever logical reasoning you use to try and explain the discrepancy, it just defies or undermines the science behind statistical sampling based on polls.

You are correct I was so busy making my own point I completely missed yours. My apologies.

I feel your pain. This is the third election where we have the choice between dumb and dumber

Gore/Bush
Kerry/Bush
Obama/McCain

Like in the previous election none of the current candidates has any kind of serious answer to the real issues of the day.
Instead of leading they both pander and fall over backwards to out pander the other.

I will not vote for either of those on the top of the ticket. Unfortunately I have to vote Republican for senate, because we have a comedian run for senator. To make things worse on the state level we have elitist leftwing professor aaarrrggghhh.....enough to make me puke.

PS.....I find it telling that Palin has garnered more stir, both positive and negative, then the other three good ole boys.

Those 50% that usually don't vote need to get something to excited about to make them go to vote...so far it's more of the same.

I voted for Bush twice, and would choose him over Kerry and Gore any day of the week. I lived through the Clinton Years and never had any disdain as you Libetards have towards Bush. If Obama is elected then he will get my respect and support. Even if I wont agree with him on muchI would never disrespect him or his supporters in this way.

Say it Loud, Say it Often, "Republicans are Bad on National Security"

By Larry Beinhart

"Every Democrat running for national office - and local offices too, why not? - should say, "I'm running because Republicans are bad on national security."

Then they should go on to say, here's why I'm saying it:

1. 9/11 happened on their watch.
Of course, we can't say, absolutely, that it would not have happened if they had not been
asleep at the wheel. But we can say that they did not do all they could have done to prevent it. We can say that Bush literally pushed away the warnings."

LMAO! So true. I guess the only viable contender would have been a gas attendant...

I would contend that being educated is not a prerequisite to being a "liberal elitist", and that being intelligent would disqualify one altogether.
