Default Post Debate Thread

I think Kerry won, but not by the same margin as the fist debate. There certainly are points that he should make that are still not being made well. For instance on the whole 87 Billion... The question is why did the President threaten to Veto the first bill I voted for? Kerry I think was effective at other points, like showing that we rushed to war

Bush still came off like a simpleton to me. Better than the first debate as far as style, but the same simpleton ideas, like leading doesn't require people to follow. Like dodging how he is going to cut the deficit. And I am very curious how his numbers get validated afterwards. 1% increase, what, last week.

Thought it was pretty much a tie. Bush of course did much better this time. Kerry certainly has better debating skills, but I thought he came off like a used car salesman -- complete with the smiles and calling people by the wrong name. I hope the picture he paints of himself as a moderate, fiscally conservative (sensible) democrat is challenged in the press over the next few days, but am not counting on it.

John Kerry spearheaded the unpopular idea of balancing the budget....
Please. And the AMC Pacer is the car of the future.

Default from slavery to the environment

Bush will have fact checkers going crazy tonight. At least he didn't say the enemy attacked us tonight.

I never knew the "quality of our air is cleaner" now (whatever that means)

The post-debate spin may of course change the result in the next few days.

Bush's futures down 5 - 8% on trading sites.

Bush displayed a vigor that was completely missing in the first debate. Both missed some easy points and Bush continued his assault on the English language.

Can anyone explain what the significance of the Dred Scott decision was in the debate? I was kinda zoning out by that point and I have no idea what Bush's point was (if, indeed, he had one).

I won't explain it... but I will ask you WHERE the Dred Scot case was decided...

BTW, Bush won and probably won big....

Default Big John kicked some major chimp arse tonight!!!

Even more forceful, didn't let Lt AWOL get away with his lies, and smiled wryily as Smirky imploded with indignation on several occasions...

One of the two guys on stage tonight looked Presidential, and the other one looked like a fake cowboy from Connecticut...

I am looking forward to next Wednesday as John Kerry wins the trifecta!!!

Like father like son, one term and you're done...!!!
