From what I know of him, he seems much more grounded in reality than either Bush (that's not saying much though) or Kerry.
Whatever happens this go around, hopefully he'll run in 2008.

I have been haunted for 4 Years by that question. The answer is:
The Presidential Primary System Neither the centers of the Republican nor Democratic parties represent the political center of the US population. So, we get bad Presidential Candidates. Mc Cain could still never beat Bush in a Republican only election (Primary) but would wipe Bush out in a general election. The same thing goes with Kerry. The Republican party in California has had this same problem for YEARS. Pete Wilson understood where the political center in the state was (just like Schwarzenegger does) however Republicans insisted in pushing candidates which resonate with the hardcore religious conservative Republican base, but no one else. This short-sighted election strategy is a MAJOR problem for Democracy within the US as a whole. :S

TRICKY-WHITE -DEVIL you are 100% correct. Neither party will tolerate a candidate who will think for himself, cross party lines for the good of the country and the people, and tell the truth too many times.
Unfortunately McCain will be too old to run in 2008. If Bush wins, and he propably will we will get the scourge of mankind running. Yes Senatorius Hillarius from NY, but the 'joke' will be on us. Can't we trade her to NORTH Korea or Mongolia or Moldova or Mars ? I am getting scared for our country already. |
