In a picture supplied by Sarah Palin's family to the Associated Press, Palin appears with some rather odd reading matter: The magazine of the ultraconservative John Birch Society.

The picture, dating to 1995, when Palin was a member of the Wasilla City Council, ran beside a profile of Palin in Saturday's New York Times. The magazine, The New American, is sitting on top of her calendar on her desk, unopened.

The current, and then-, president of the group, John McManus, confirmed that the cover fit the description of a 1995 issue of the magazine. The headline, "Con-Con Call," refers to discussion at the time of a constitutional convention. The headline appears above a picture of then-Utah Governor Mike Leavitt, who had floated the notion as a way of returning the balance of power back toward the states. But the author warned that the convention could actually be a devious ploy aimed at increasing government power.
Now, you wouldn't have to be a Bircher to get the mag... but why would someone want to read that kind of crap -- and have it on her desk for a photo op -- otherwise?

Something to wonder about on a lovely Friday.
Now.....NOW you want to talk about issues?

Jews also deny the divinity of Jesus. Do you plan on persecuting them too for not believing like you?
Hitler already took that road and it wasn't pretty.

I really don't understand how upset supporters of one candidate or the other are getting.

At this point in time, I don't believe there is anything that loyal Obama followers could hear or see to shake their faith. To an outsider, there is more than enough items to bring into question who really is Obama just based upon his ascension as well as relationships.

On the flip side, McCain just walked away from the Keating 5 but that now pales in comparison to Freddie and Fannie and their ties to this campaign.

It's too complicated for the average voter. They like who they like or dislike who they dislike. People want to ignore the current do-nothing congress; that's OK. They want to ignore when it was controlled by Republicans, that's OK too. But, the voters actually believe that Mr Change or Sarah's running mate can do anything about the stew we're in...........get involved with what your reps and senators are doing if you want real change. They have a heck of a lot more to do with this mess than the POTUS.

You mean people are going to ignore the Do Nothing Congress lead by the Party Of Obama Pelosi that takes the following official policy position regarding the current financial mess: "We don't know what to do!". Hey dumbcrats, here is an idea: Repeal your stupid policies of making banks give loans to people who cannot afford on the interest of putting people into their own homes who cannot afford them.

Why in the world anyone wants to trust the Party Of Obama Pelosi with the future of this country I will never understand.

Sigh.

I suspect as our economy continue to implode and skirmishes such as Russia and Georgia; Bolivia, Venezuela etc; as the shine from the Palin nomination fades a bit and the polls show a steady Obama surge, we will see more of this.
More of this and more of the whole "Obama is secretly gay and a crack smoker."

(cause that's being alleged by a confirmed liar, very reputable source there)

Can somebody explain something to me?
Is Obama secretly a Muslim, thus for some reason a serious and viable threat to the nation

or...is he a Christian who attended a "separatist black church for 20+ years?

Add his school papers to this:

George Stefanappleass even had to correct his Freudian Slip.

He doesn't say "McCain has not accused me of being a Muslim" he clearly says "John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith" He couldn't have not talked about his Muslim faith if he doesn't have a Muslim faith.

All this evidence together sure makes it look like Obama's lying. If he wins and it comes out later he is a Muslim and that he lied all along about it, should he be impeached?

I believe those would be the Republican policies, now wouldn't they?
