Default Facts of the Matter!

I dont care who is winning what poll, by how much or how little.

DO NOT TRUST A POLL!!! Whether it is McCain up by 1 or 2, or Obama up 3 or 4. DO NOT TRUST IT!!!

The only poll, that is not a poll actually, that matters is the end result on November 4th.

Man's want to control all aspects of life, and to predict the future is being used to try and swing voters and votes either way. DO NOT FALL PREY TO POLL NUMBERS!!!

If you do tend to be a poll junkie, then donot let whatever the day's poll show, to influence your own judgement on anything.

How many people do you actually think change their opinions based on polls?
The polls are used more for bragging rights and horse race monitoring.

Obviously the polls aren't going in favor of John McCain!

These polls show trends. They're snapshots in time. They're used to make strategic decisions. They're use to manipulate public opinion.

Should they be believed. Well, they are what they are. They're not subjective. Question the methodology, yes, but the results are the results.

Well I wouldnt even venture to guess.

Bragging rights arent worth a crud, unless you are talking sports. Political polls change depending on who is being polled and what the make up of the poll is, along with how the questions are structured.

Leave teh bragging rights in the sports arena and the horse race monitoring at the track. Neither are going to effect foreign policy, or what direction our country goes in the future.

I think the polls can play a part in voter turnout.

If people are slightly apathetic and think there's not hope and they're vote won't matter - they may stay home.

If people are highly motivated and believe their vote matters a great deal in the outcome - they may turn out in droves.

But they are a part of how politics is viewed in the country, like it or not.
And it has little to do with who people decide to vote for... At the most overconfidence in a candidate or feelings of hopelessness reflected in polls may cause a lazier person to not bother voting... but such a person will likely find a reason not to vote anyway.

NOW he doesn't like polls.

Seems there was a time, shortly after the GOP convention, he just LOVED them...

Sept. 9...

MELTDOWN! Gallup will show McCain up by 10 points tommorow....

30%. Mark my words. On November 4th Obama will only get 30%.

WOW! And from the NYT and CBS????

That means McCain might actually be ahead by +10....lol.
Polls rise after Gov. Palin speech

Here man, how about a 9% upswing for McCain among undecided independents.
So, I guess his disdain for polling is situational.

Wow, its really to bad you cant discuss a thread topic. Instead you TRY, see word "TRY", to turn threads into referendums on the posters themselves.

I stand by all those comments TJO. All 3 have nothing to do with backing a poll. Perhaps if you actually put them in context, you might realize that.

This thread is not about me TJO, I know you like to turn threads into those kinds of childish arguements, but I dont play your 3rd grade fist (*)(*)(*)(*)ing games.

Have a good day man.
