Default McCain-Palin stops talking about Troopergate

The farce continues:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/...investigation/

Quote:
Republican campaign officials indicated they are done answering questions about an investigation into Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's firing of her public safety commissioner Tuesday, citing a request by a state investigator....

Palin has dropped an earlier pledge to cooperate with a probe by the state Legislature, with aides arguing it has been "tainted" by partisan politics since she became Sen. John McCain's running mate. But Stapleton said Palin's lawyers have agreed to "general parameters of immediate cooperation" with the investigation she requested from the state Personnel Board, which has hired Anchorage lawyer Timothy Petumenos to conduct the inquiry.

"The governor waived confidentiality, and Mr. Petumenos has just stated as of this moment that he would like for things to remain confidential," Stapleton said. "So that is why we are telling you as of today, we are no longer going to be discussing aspects of this as directed by Mr. Petumenos."
So, to recap: the investigator for the Palin-requested investigation, being run by a Palin-controlled board, has asked that the McCain-Palin campaign stop talking about Troopergate. So they are.

How blatant can the coverup get?

How many lawyers/investigators advise talking about an investigation while it's in progress???

In fact, most all I've ever known of say, "don't discuss the case." In other words, let the investigators do their jobs. And if she was talking about it, you and other Palin-haters would be claiming she was trying to influence the outcome.

What do you mean by a Palin controlled board? Isnt that board under the direction of the Governor, no matter who the Governor is?

Palin's all about transparency and open government, remember? Plus she did no wrong and has nothing to hide.

Oh, wait.

Of course, the state investigation is just getting under way and will take months -- conveniently taking Troopergate off the table for the election. It's a blatant effort to shut the issue down until after the election.

You're making stuff up that simply isn't true, given my history. I have never, ever complained about elected officials discussing charges against them, even if it's merely to dispute them.

There may end up being nothing to Troopergate. But Palin is discrediting herself with her handling of it.

Yes. And who is governor? Palin. Hence she controls the board.

Funny that Palin would try to switch an investigation from the legislature to a board she controls. Why would she do that, I wonder? Further, why would someone claiming to be a reformer of high ethical standards do something so transparently unethical?
