Senators are paid to do a job and they should go to work and solve this problem. McCain is putting his job first to try to help the situation and Obama is not doing his job that he is being paid to do. Instead he says "Call me if you need me" while sitting on a salary paid by the taxpayers of his district. Who is putting his country first?

You know darned good and well that is not what I said - 'not an emergency' does not equal 'A-OK'. It just means that GWB is overstating the case hoping to push threw a bigger bailout for his rich banking buddies. If it is actually discussed and debated, he knows it will come with less money, more oversight and regulations -- and his buddies won't like him so much anymore.

There's no need for McCain to go to DC, he has no solutions for this crisis, he has no mind for economics, he's told us that, one of the few times he's been honest. He's got his own crisis that's he's tryin' to avoid, his campaign crisis, he's fallin' in the polls because Palin is provin' to have been another disaster. He just needs time to regroup, poor pick for VP, poor pick for a President.

Oh, bull(*)(*)(*)(*). McCain is using the situation for political grandstanding, nothing else. The right wingers only wish the American public was as stupid as they think they are. This guy is so transparent as to be as non-existent as his economic knowledge, which he has had on glorious display for these last 10 days now.

That massive thud you heard today was the jaws of the collective power structure of the GOP hitting the floor when McCain announced his latest folly. Followed by: a unison WTF is he thinking?

McCain seen on his way to Washington:

Since GWB has now invited both to the White Hose to discuss this, I believe McCain's little ploy is over.

I know what he wants. It is a political ploy.
