Sorry -- didn't mean to mislead. What has been discredited is the illogical attacks on Ms Palin. It's the same ol' bull(*)(*)(*)(*) ....

Ms Palin has a clear track record of making political, and professional, decisions that run counter to her core beliefs. She vetoed anti-abortion legislation in Alaska, for example. She recognizes that the people she serves do not necessarily subscribe to her position, and when she makes her decision, she uses their criteria, not hers.

But, y'all are so locked in on a single issue, an issue that has absolutely no potential of coming up, and you make judgment based on that single, hypothetical, though extremely remote, what-if scenario. You make it seem like the VP is going to run off and rule the world, change all these laws, turn us into a theocracy. First of all, she's the VP. Your paranoia is starting to show.

But, let's assume she becomes the President. She STILL can't do any of that ... you want to say but, but, but ... she could appoint someone to the Supreme Court! No, she can't ... she can nominate someone for the Supreme Court. Congress gets to weed out the crazies. She can't change laws; the best she can do is ask Congress to change laws.

So, at least be honest with yourself .... most of you really don't care about the abortion issue (I will concede that there may be a couple of you who do). But, even though you really don't care about abortion, you're using it as a political football to try to discredit the other side so that your man gets elected. (For those of you who are genuinely concerned about abortion rights, take a look at the effect of these psuedo-supporters are having on your position. They are making you look like a bunch of illogical, strident, and inflexible one-note extremists!)

If your man can't stand on his own, and his only hope of success is such a strident, remote, and ridiculous attack on the opposition, then I would suggest that maybe, just maybe, your man shouldn't get the job in the first place.

Exactly. She's laid her fair share of eggs for us to criticize. She's not being picked on, she's being shown for who she is as a politician and person. I know it's not the person you want, but it's the person McCain chose and I will not sit back and let righties tell me not to pay attention to a candidate's failings and shortcomings. Hers resume of stupidity is massive.
