Default Bush Deflates McCain's Balloon

MSNBC is reporting President Bush has invited Senators McCain AND Obama to a meeting at the White House tomorrow.

Obama has accepted. This effectively deflates McCain's "I MUST RETURN TO WASHINGTON AND SAVE THE WORLD" gambit, at least as it would potentially affect Obama.

Hahaha. Never thought Bush would help Obama. That's kind of funny.

It certainly is telling.

Now, Obama CAN travel to DC without it seeming like he's doing so at McCain's behest.

Bush kicked McCain RIGHT IN THE TEETH with this.

Perhaps McCain won't accept the invitation. He would be smart if he didn't. Why would Obama want to meet with Bush anyway. Is Bush's "popularity" going to rub off?

McCain's official announcement of suspending his campaign was lame. This could conceivably last longer than a few days or be over tomorrow.

Who, in their right mind, turns down an invitation from the POTUS, regardless of how bad they're considered, or how much they disagree?

i think mccain will snub fridays debate, and he will get his way and have the VP date moved for the first prez debate. i don't think people will like it. but i also dont think mccain will "admit defeat", and you can't have a debate without an opponent.

I believe GWB is hoping to get both on-board for his quick-fix bailout. Even GWB has to realize that McCain can't deliver at this point.

This will also save McCain from getting associated with GWB as part of this bailout. It is actually a good move for the Rep side.

If the VP debate is "moved" I don't think it will happen.

Bush invited Obama to the White House so he could help convince McCain that the economy is not fecking sound.
