McCain just looked desperate and impulsive.
So you thought the decision was stupid, desperate, and impulsive and then predicted you would think the same thing in the morning?

Congratulations Nostradamus!

I don't understand why you are putting emphasis on the bill being "completed".

Here, I just came up with a new bill

1) Give 700 billion to me.

There I just finished a bill without anyones help in 5 seconds.
Yeah. That's the bill they came up with. Uh huh.

Now, back to the adults.

Both Reid and Pelosi have said this bill will not go to the floor unless there's enough GOP votes to pass it.

Does anyone here think they haven't COUNTED the votes yet and don't have a pretty good idea if they have enough support?

Ok, another great point. Why is McCain in such a rush to get this completed as he stated yesterday. Members on both sides of the isle have been working tireless on this bill and now he wants to come in when the hard part is done? No way!

Did you mean hes working on the plan that he and Obama where suppose to release jointly until McCain jumped the gun in this political stunt?

Let's boil it down to it's base elements...

Quote:
Obama: Congressional leaders have made progress (without my help!); a deal is near; and I'll offer whatever assistance I can today.

McCain: The deal is dead and only I can revive it.

Reid and Pelosi? Well, I am certainly relieved now.

After they attempted to pass a drilling bill that would have reduced offshore drilling I'm not impressed.

I'm surprised, in yesterdays speech, McCain didn't order Congress to cease and desist all negotiations until he got there.

No, I said yesterday that there was significant progress being made on the deal, and McCain was going to look stupid rushing back to Washington just as Congress finishes its work.

Lo and behold; it's happening.

A dramatic flurry of activity late Wednesday, including a prime-time address by President George W. Bush, appeared to galvanize efforts to finalize the administration's $700 billion financial-markets bailout, despite continuing tensions and an occasionally heated debate on Capitol Hill.

Democratic leaders hope to nail down details of the measure early Thursday, ahead of an extraordinary summit meeting in the afternoon at the White House, which will bring together Republican and Democratic presidential nominees, along with Mr. Bush and top leaders from Congress.
If McCain is needed simply to arm-twist some Republicans into supporting the package, he could do that from the road. Even if he felt it was better to head back to Washington to do so in person, he could have done that without the whole "Chicken Little" thing.

Why did he say he would suspend his campaign but allows his surrogates to stump?
