Default Cheap shot at Dick Cheney's daughter or no!

Do you think it was right for John Kerry to mention that Dick Cheney's daughter is a lesbian, on national T.V? Many reporters are extremely upset, & state that Kerry took a very cheap shot, using Dick Cheney's daughter for ammunition?

Personally, I don't know how the daughter of Dick Cheney feels about him doing that. But in reality, I think it did more harm to John Kerry, than Dick Cheney.

Assuming that there is no shame in being gay as Kerry and Cheney's daughter both undoubtedly believe, assuming that it's an alternative but equal lifestyle - there is certainly no shame in mentioning that a person is gay.

Default No

I don't think it was a cheap shot. I think it was to show the hypocrisy of the position. And to use by example that there are gays in many families and that if you know one, it is not always by choice. I personally think some gays, mostly the ones that dress up in leather and parade down the street are just sick bastards by choice, but many others are just who they are.

Default I don't know

On Fox News, the democrate & moderate commentators were really ticked off over this. The conservative commentator didn't say much about it. They stated it was a below the belt hit, & Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter, used by John Kerry was the Lowest of the low for Kerry to do that. They're still p.o.d about it. They won't stop talking about it.

From the moderate & the democrat commentators?

Default First off, Cheney's daughter has been openly gay for many...

....many years...So this is not 'new' news...John Kerry did NOT "out" her on national tv...anyone that DIDN'T know that hasn't been paying attention...

I don't think it was a cheap shot, but it was a low-blow IMO...It wasn't necessary for sure, but it was the wrong way to point out the rank hypocrisy in the republican platform...

As for the feigned outrage in the media..spare me...this is the kind of thing they LIVE for...

Good point about hypocricy Hard-Driver,

Republicans are against gay marriages until they get a gay child
They are against Universal Healthcare until they lose healthcare and get sick
They are against lawyers and support tort reforms until they get an opportunity to sue somebody
They are against drug abuse until they are caught like Rush Limbaugh.
They are against stem cell research until they or their loved ones get sick.

Now, Ken you're writing a little deperate. YOU'RE NOW OFF TOPIC. Desperation shows a sign that you're not feeling too good about your candidate, John Kerry. Kerry, clearly lost the debate tonight. He was painted as a very liberal senator, as President Bush stated that Ted Kennedy is considered the "conservative" senator from Mass, ha.ha.

Democrats are against the death penalty until one of their loved ones gets murdered.
They are against tort reform until they are the ones sued frivolously.
They are against debt until it's their social program that needs funding.
They are against sexual harrassment until their President gets caught committing it himself.
They are for women until their President is accused of rape.

Default .

I thought it was a cheap shot. Not aimed at Cheney's daughter but at Bush/Cheney. Kerry did not need to bring the VP's kid into the discussion to make his point.
