I disagree, Carter started the community reinvestment act. Clinton changed it so that Fanny and Freddie had to accept sub prime paper.

Obama when sitting on the board of Acorn was involved in suing CitiBank focing CitiBank to lend to unqualified minorities. This suit set a precident that all other banks had to follow.

Bush tried to stop this mess several times so did McCain and the Republicans but the votes to stop this mess was strickly along party lines. Democrats for no changes to the regualtions and McCain and the Republicans for major changes that would have stopped this mess from happening.

Did you actually read the link at all? All of those things are listed...as well as things Bush and republicans did that helped get us to where we are. THEY ARE ALL AT FAULT. You can not dispute the facts.

And again, please bring me a chart or something that shows how many of the mortgages that were given because of the CRA that defaulted. I do not doubt that this was partially an issue, but I find it hard to believe that all of those people didn't pay their bills.

Just when I thought it couldn't happen, this thread got even dumber.

The notion that only one of about four or five actors in the play is responsible for putting the show on is positively willful ignorance fueled by a blind, unrelenting hatred of one party. Such irrationality is the result of ideological differences being twisted and maimed into emotionally driven responses due to some psychologically unresolved obstacle.
