Default Know Facts

It is a known fact that both Barack Obama, and John McCain have no economic back ground what so ever. Not to mention that Obama himself has no legislative accomplishments. But let’s turn back the time a little here shall we. Remember four or five months ago when both parties where battling it out for each of their own nomination, I remember a candidate that had the leadership skills and economic backing that could help this country. His entire career was that in the private sector. His sole purpose when ask to help a company was to turn that company around and make a profit. His economic plan would establish strict spending limits, review all spending programs, and of course the most important and most over looked, make the economy pro-growth.
I am of course speaking about Mitt Romney. Taking everything you hate about this candidate and putting it aside, you cannot deny the fact that Mitt Romney was the one candidate that could help this economy and our nation.
If Mitt Romney won the republican nomination and not John McCain, Mitt Romney would be far in the lead in polls with the country so focused on economics.
Please feel free to voice your option on this matter, that’s what these forums are here for.

I've always liked Romney more for his capabilities but he was the one candidate that was even more boring than McCain. he just couldn't be shined up enough for the marketing style required this year. It's the Youtube campaign era and candidates had best get used to it. Obama girl is sexy and helps with the market awareness of obs to the young voters

known fact - out of a bunch of really bad candidates McCain was the last man standing.

The fundie wing of the GOP couldn't deal with a mormon and now it looks as if the fundie Sarah Palin is gonna sink the McCain run.

Thank you for your post first off, second Mitt being a mormon was not the issue that the hard right had with Mitt Romney, and in fact they liked him, but when you have two candidates team up in the election it is hard for one person to fight back.
Let me clarify both John McCain and Mike Huckabee worked together to rip Mitt Romney's votes from him in the primaries, and I say this not as an excuse but as a fact. McCain got the independent vote while Mike and Mitt split the conservative vote, ending in John McCain winning.

The times have changed. If Romney had a personality that allowed people to warm up to him, this November we'd be voting "for Romney" as opposed to "against Obama". But, we can play what ifs all day long. We are where we are with respect to both candidates and the ultimate losers won't be either McCain or Obama, but we the people.

Romney is very intelligent in economics, but his religion may have been a serious problem for him.

Very true and rightly put. In the end we are the losers no one else. Thanks for the post.
