I predict that it will not matter who the moderator is, because the following things will happen:
1) Palin will look like she's stupid. There is a good reason for this. 2) Biden will look like a condescending, arrogant ass, but I am going to be forced to vote for him, anyway, because I cannot elect someone as stupid as Palin to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Yes, I realize this is a reversal on my position. I cautioned people not to pre-judge Palin. I defended her from the most rabid & crazy attacks. I haven't totally reversed my position. I'd like to see that she is halfway competent and John McCain hasn't utterly lost his sanity the way he appears to have lost his ethics in this campaign. To some degree, I am giving her the benefit of the doubt, because I'm reserving judgement until I see her in the debate. I'm prepared to be proven wrong on the matter of her being stupid and unqualified. But, I fully predict I'm going to end up lining up with Kathleen Parker on this one, much as it pains me to admit it. And trust me--it pains a lot.

Even if I thought she was stupid I still would not vote for Obama. I am more willing to risk Palin being president than Obama, because Obama's policy is batѕhit insane.
That being said, I really dont think she is stupid. I think she's not a good public speaker (which means she's probably not a good debater either) and the liberal media has exploited that to their benefit. The media was digging for "gotcha" quotes and found a few. I vote for people based on their policies, not their speaking ability. |

I think the debate will be much less dramatic than the hype that has been making the rounds.
I think both Biden and Palin have a capability to speak easily which will likely make the debate slightly more interesting to watch than last week's debate between Obama and the fantastically wealthy walmart greeter. I believe Biden will indeed make his deep, deep background and knowledge overwhelmingly clear and he will do a very controlled job on not stomping Palin TOO hard in this regard. I believe Palin will provide answers that are sharp and clear and seem very sensible. Unfortunately, gender will complicate things significantly. You see, Palin is working to be perceived as an equal on the national stage, considered a politician not a woman while at the same time positioning herself as an "everday hockey mom." She is smart to do this because it allows her to hijack woman's suffrage while simultaneously appear unduly victimized when someone insults her. We saw this in clear, open action during the "lipstick on a pig" comment situation a few weeks back; apparently, Palin was a strong and capable leader UNTIL a man called her a pig. The problem is that if Biden lays into her too hard, he runs the risk of looking like he is beating on a nice Mom. Why? Not because we're sexist, but because nobody likes seeing a Mom get F-ed with. If Biden was going up against a man, he'd could go full bore on both barrels and only run the risk of looking like he has a temper. Instead, Palin's deft manipulation of demanding equality in conjunction with the Mom card hopelessly complicates things for Biden. As for my personal take on that matter, I hope Biden restrains himself and lets this debate flow by with a couple of fun one-liners and a good Biden-branded flub or two that we can all laugh at. As we've already seen, Palin has significant trouble when asked easy questions. Biden needs to let Palin defeat Palin.

This is the truth.
