I agree. People are making way too much deal about being qualified or not. I'm pretty sure if Donald Trump works for me, I'll become successful in no time. The problem is - am I competent enough to use the information he gave me? This is where I disagree with you Shiva because I do think Obama is smart enough to be a great president. Sadly, Gov. Palin, on the other hand, is not competent enough to be president. I saw the debate last night, and she didn't impress me at all. It seemed like she memorized all those things she talked about in the debate. She also didn't answer some of the questions that was asked and kept going back to her comfort zone - energy. I also understand she's trying to portray herself as one of the regular people, but it just makes her sound really dumb. I want someone smarter than me to represent me on the world stage, not dumber or equal to me. I especially don't want someone saying "shout out" or "give it to you straight" in a vice presidential debate. C'mon!! All you Palin lovers can spin it any way you want, but I thought she choked on the debate. As for McCain, I think he's ok, but it does not seem people vote for him because they like him; they vote for him because they love Palin. And that is freaking sad!! They should reverse the ticket. |

Continuing to misquote Obama after being corrected repeatedly does nothing for the credibility of the right IMO. It suggest that nothing of substance can be found to use in the attack so misquotes must be used to attampt to undermine Obama's position.

Great, substantive debate performance by Joe Biden. Sarah "Talking Points" Palin exceeded low expectations but sounded too scripted.
Bottom line: At the end of the day, who do you want to see driving the national bus? The seasoned Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, or the Janie-Come-Lately Hockey Mom? |

There's one difference between Clinton and Palin - Clinton graduated from Yale Law and actually was able to make his own decision based on advice. In Palin's case, they would be telling her what to choose - it would be more like commands coming from advisers, not advice.

IMO she's as qualified to assume the presidency if anything happens to McCain as Obama is to be the president should he get elected! |

As the 2-term President Bush amply demonstrates, people don't want a competent President, they want somebody who doesn't make them feel stupid. Palin, like Bush, is good at making people feel smart. So if you're not sure you want to vote for Obama, lets just elect a steaming pile of bear (*)(*)(*)(*). It'll do a lot less damage and probably improve our image overseas versus another Bush-like administration.
