Default What nation's flag is on the BUSH logo?

Please look closely at the Bush/Cheney sticker and logo. This is not the American flag.

It has 20 stars and 7 stripes. This is bizarre coming from an administration that claims their followers are the only true patriots.

Just what national flag is it?

See for yourself at the Bush website. (A flag that is cut in half--at least--pretty ironic--fairly representative--they have taken our national symbol and falsified it)

Default Symbol incorrect

I realize this is picky detail--but please check out the fact that Bush/Cheney are not using an accurate American flag as their logo.

Please see it for yourself. www.gerorgewbush.com

I admit that I am filtering this through my interest in semoitics and language symbols--but this is an incredible irony. For some reason I am unable to copy the exact location on the site. Go to the stuff or gear--then see this modified symbol yourself.

(I also tried to copy it here without success)[/quote]

I don't think that Gerorge W Bush appreciates you mispelling his website like that.

Default LOL

It was an honest mistake...but the modified flag is not. What are your thoughts on the modified symbol Hans?

Default It's interesting

I never thought about it before to be honest. I don't think it is intentionally supposed to be anything bad, people use modified versions of the flag all the time, it is not uncommon. Back in the day there was no one "single" flag version out there, simply because the country grew so fast that no one could keep up. So politicians always had different versions of the flag. So there is probably some antiquated reason behind that.

However, the skeptical part of me wonders if there is a "hidden message" behind it. Perhaps the twenty states represent the twenty GOP states out there (though I don't know if there is a shred of truth to it), or some other nonesense like that. Who knows?

Default I also have to wonder

Today I was on campus and some students had a Republican table. One of them asked me "Are you going to vote for our President, or the man who betrayed our country?" When I returned to speak to him, I saw the modified flag on the sign. I asked him for a sign and a couple of bumper stickers, because I could not believe what I was seeing.

I told the young man not to be so offensive in his speech and thanked him for the sign. I could not find a real case of flag modification in my search. While there are historical versions, those converged into one national symbol.

I asked some political and language professors what they thought. No one had really looked at it closely before. I sent a link to some friends who are looking into for me. The irony is that the Republican party often makes a fuss over flag desecration.

Is this a modern version of flag desecration in the name of political efficiency? It is rather interesting that the most noble symbol of this country is not being portrayed accurately by the incumbent party.

______________

It has to be an omen. Let me interpret it for all of us. Based upon the the ancient rules of interprepations from the Trans-Carpathian Region of ZaKarpatska-Ukraiyna it means that on the 20 th year and seventh month after the first accension to the throne by W The Unknowing Shrub an asteroid shall graze the earth and cause much havoc and chaos to last for a thousand years of intellectual darkness.

Default the "W" with flag is the worst sign ever

our local news asked 100 people what it meant and 80 people thought it was a racing logo, 3 believed it was the company that MADE the flag and only 6 knew it meant Bush. (11 had no idea what it was)

It COULD be the shadow government flag that his Dad and Oliver North set up and personally benefitted from financially.
