Default Obama Likely To Keep Bush Defense Secretary Gates

While Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama may disagree with President Bush’s policy in Iraq, he thinks highly of his defense secretary Robert Gates.

Default Obama didn't say that...

“I think Secretary Gates has been a good secretary of defense,” Danzig told the Army Times. “I think in an Obama administration

One thing is for sure, Obama won't be hiring Don Rumsfeld.

Thats Funny! That would make it 27 years of republican Secetary of Defenses in the past 30 years!

Gates has been good and I would not have a problem with Obama keeping him. Republican does not equal wrong or incompetent. Each person has to be judged on their own merits or flaws.

From what I know of Robert Gates, he is quite capable and very level. A refreshing replacement for Donald Rumsfeld. Gates has been Sec of Defense since beginning of 2007 if I recall correctly.

I just think its funny that for the past 30 years has been dominated by Republican Secetary of Defenses (with the exception of less than 3 years under Clintons first term). Is there a democrat anywhere that is up to the job?
