I think Obama has already proven himself to be the better candidate here and I think most people with good judgment would agree. I'm not thrilled by him and wish that we had better candidates on both ends but I think he's the better choice here. Obama is obviously much smarter IQ wise versus McCain and anything he has missing can be made up with Biden's experience. If McCain is elected in office I think Palin's role will mostly be to sit back and look stupid. I don't think she has the RIGHT experience to be the VP nevermind the president of the United States.

Yes, unless I mistaken, Palin proved that she was a phony. In the Alaskan gubernatorial debate, shown on C-span, she didn't display her "folksy" *wink* *wink* "doggone it" style she tried to seduce all Americans last night.

I agree. Too many people are judging here by that performance when it was really nothing more than an act that she's been rehearsing for in the past weeks. Maybe if this country wasn't in the situation its in right now then we could take a risk with McCain and Palin, but I don't think its a risk we can afford at this moment.

Hm. You know, I'd like to see those 2 debates side by side. I'd be interested to see how her dictation differed.

What do you mean? Differed from Biden's? I never said that Biden wasn't coached. I think he did just as good of a job as Palin if not better. However, I think a lot of the time Biden was speaking from experience and didn't need a script to follow. Palin's entire debate was a complete ACT that's she worked really hard on. I'm judging this by her entire performance leading up to the debate. Somebody who can't answer a simple question like "what newspapers do you read?" after stating that she does read the newspaper doesn't measure up to much in my book. She also had quite a few other "stupid" moments prior to that. And which president had moments like that while in office? I think president Bush is who comes to mind. Some people like her because she reminds them of their next door neighbor, but would you LITERALLY want your next door neighbor as your president?

We can easily judge Palin by her performance at the debate, just as one could judge anyone in the same situation.

Palin failed to answer many questions fully and directly. She took up valuable time winging it on campaign phrases and folksy talk that wound up being mocked and generally unappreciated. She even took the time to explain to us that she would not be answering questions and would rather spend the time campaigning. I'm sorry - what?

Palin distorted the truth in some very old, very used ways. Claiming Obama "still can't admit the surge worked." How tired. I guess she not only doesn't read but doesn't watch TV or listen to the radio either.

Palin managed to answer several questions by talking about energy. She styles herself as an expert on energy, which is hilarious. All she knows about is oil and the fact that Alaska has a metric (*)(*)(*)(*) ton of it. No expertise required, sweetheart.

What little she was able to express without screwing up or distorting was the result of an intense week-long cram session. Will she for a week before every hour and a half she is Vice President? Doubtful, since she doesn't read.

Well, you can judge her on how well she did on that one debate but some people think she's qualified to be the VP based solely on that. Don't you think it's a little too early for that kind of judgment? I think a candidate should have to work for your vote and some voters are literally going to hand their vote over to the Republican candidates based on nothing.

Palin has most definately made up for her lack of public relation skills via the debate with Biden. Although she may have established herself as a force to be reckoned with in 2012, polls showed the debate going to Biden. The year is 2008 and Palin will not be ready for such a position right now. It is impossible to judge Sarah Palin based solely on the debate. She has only been in the political spotlight for so long. Give her time to come into her own, and I am willing to bet that she will be on the ticket for 2012 if O'bama wins this election. And as for dodging or side stepping difficult questions in the debate or in interviews, show me a politician that has always given the straight answer right off the bat. That just doesn't happen, because the people that solidify answers to those types of questions don't get elected and don't matter.
