Great post. Obama is an idealist which is a perfect qualification for a liberal university professor of arts or something. America needs someone who's going to fix things at home and scare the crap out of anyone like Putin, Imadinnerjacket and keep Hugo and Kim Jung Il from thinking they can ever have weapons more dangerous than a potato peeler.

Yeah take the opposite position. It gets a little confusing switching between threads though

McCain and Palin, Come on now more of the same Bush policies for another eight years? The Bush administration has cost us in many ways in the last eight years. Our military is stretched to its breaking point, Our current financial status in this nation is a mess due to excessive military spending and corrupt official's in Washington and on wall street . Foreign relations? What foreign relations are you speaking of? Were the laughing stock of the global community for invading a country on faulty Intel and then staying the course. I think eight years of a republican administration is enough, to say nothing of the fact that McCain has been in lock step with bush on 90% of his policies.

McCain is against sitting down with Iran without preconditions. This is not going to bring Iran to the table he agrees with Bush that a military option is the best way to Handle Iran. Bush, McCain, and The United States is trapped by the Bush-Cheney approach to diplomacy that refuses to talk to leaders we do not like. Do we really want another ill conceived war? Can we afford it?

Senator Obama "supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. Obama and Biden would offer the Iranian regime a choice. If Iran abandons its nuclear program and support for terrorism, we will offer incentives like membership in the World Trade Organization, economic investments, and a move toward normal diplomatic relations."

http://origin.barackobama.com/issues/foreign_policy/

Clearly the sabre rattling this administration and the one McCain is proposing has not worked, it is a failed policy it is time for some change.

Obama stood up to the Bush administration's warnings of war, just like he stood up to the war in Iraq. More direct tough talks with foreign leaders are what is needed here. Obama still believes that we can sit down and talk to our enemies and use diplomacy and not the sword. What McCain is proposing in effect is that we use a Chainsaw to try and fix our problems, when what we need is a scalpel, Obama is that scalpel and he is that change.

Republicans can argue all they like but in eight years what has your party done? Increased taxes, increased our deficit, destroyed our economy through inaction and ignorance and worst of all destroyed a 200 year reputation for fairness and liberty and replaced it with Torture, arrogance and fear mongering.

Its time the American people woke up, they demand change, they see it is best for the country and it is time we gave it to them America!

Obama/Biden 2008

Barack Obama is young and inexperienced while Sarah Palin is fresh and new.

Obama's spiritual advisor is a racist priest. Sarah Palin's husband is a proud member of the Alaska Secessionists Movement.

Obama is only getting votes because he's black. Sarah Palin is going to bring in the women votes.

Obama has ridiculous earmarks. Sarah Palin stopped the Bridge to Nowhere and saved the federal government from wasting all that....wait where did that money go?

Barack Obama has only been a state Senator for 6 years and before that was in the state legislator. Sarah Palin was a Governer for two full years and before that she was the mayor of a population of 5000!!

Noticing a trend here?

Didn't you hear Palin slamming Bushism during the debate yesterday? McCain/Palin aren't Bush any more than Obama/Biden are Carter.

Iran doesn't need diplomacy. Iran needs to know that if they don't knock it off their country is going to be suitable for movie scenes that call for lunar landscape.

Bush is the victim of bad timing is all. He just happened to be President when the Democratically inspired mortgage mess blew up. If Dumbocrats could punch a chad properly it would have been Gore.

What I heard was Palin going after the independent and undecided voters and telling them exactly what they wanted to hear. Typical Neo-Con bait and switch. She bashed bush during the debate go figure she needs the independants and undecided votes never mind the fact McCains voting record has been in lock step with Bush for 8 years. Its election time, we have to lie to get elected and change our positions to suit our needs now! Did you watch the same debate I did?

Typical neo-con rhetoric if they don't agree with reason and logic nuke them until they glow! Pathetic. God forbid we should try a non military solution that would actually make use look like responsible global citizens. We would not want that!

Bush is a victim alright, but not of timing hes a victim of a failed education system.
