Default Bush said we would have no casualties in Iraq

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/...raq/index.html

Quote:
Pat Robertson, an ardent Bush supporter, said he had that conversation with the president in Nashville, Tennessee, before the March 2003 invasion. He described Bush in the meeting as "the most self-assured man I've ever met in my life."

"You remember Mark Twain said, 'He looks like a contented Christian with four aces.' I mean he was just sitting there like, 'I'm on top of the world,' " Robertson said on the CNN show, "Paula Zahn Now."

"And I warned him about this war. I had deep misgivings about this war, deep misgivings. And I was trying to say, 'Mr. President, you had better prepare the American people for casualties.' "

Robertson said the president then told him, "Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties."
Yup, Bush is delusional and lives in a fantasyland complete seperate from reality. That is what this tells me.

Default So which one is it HD?

Do you make it a point to post a DNC talking point every day, or are you a regular viewer of the 700 Club?

Default You forget....

What a freaking lie. I don't know if the lie has come from Robertson or someone else. But it's a lie.

You forget....we all saw and heard the President's early speeches to the American public. We heard him say that going into Iraq would be hard and that there would be sacrifices.

Default Robertson lie?

"What a freaking lie. I don't know if the lie has come from Robertson or someone else. But it's a lie. "

How can the guy who blamed the hurricanes on gays and agreed with Falwell that gays were repsonsible for 9/11 lie?

I'll have to say, I don't think even Bush would say there weren't going to be casualties.

It's only true if it agrees with HD's view.

Default Wacko

Pat Robertson is a right wing wacko, many of you here should get along. I don't doubt that he believes God is against gays and is sending huuricanes as retribution, etc. I wasn't there, but I suspect that Bush actually told him this. His speech writers wrote what he was going to say in public about a hard work and sacrafice. Haven't you right wingers figured out from the debates that Bush can't say much unless someone else writes it for him. Even in the debates, he had to fall back on his pre-canned talking points to have any success. Well, IMO, he probably did shoot his mouth off as a cocky bastard and tell Pat Robertson that there weren't going to be any casualties. My guess is that in Bush's mind, this is the same as low casualties and he truely believed Paul Wolfowitz that the Iraqi's would welcome us like the French did in WWII and that not another soldier would die after the fall of Saddam.

The point, something else that Bush has been wrong about.

And yes, Bush is bad, Bush is bad, Bush is bad.
