I actually think the colored alert stuff is kinda silly but I don't think there is anyway to alert the law enforcement agencies without it being leaked to the press. Then of course the press will be screaming 'Why didn't you alert the American people'. No win situation.

This reminds me of a local Kindergarten teacher. In order to be more PC and stop the bad rap the color red has gotten all these years, she started a new PC behavioral code for her students. Red is the best and green is the worst. I guess she thought we were hurting red's feelings.
