Unless the Obama supporters were too afraid to admit it I must say that 95 % of the people in the room not only said that they were for McCAIN but many made racists remrks about Obama. This was an all White veteran's group that I belong to since it is based on a EUROPEAN ethnic GROUP so noone was afraid to speak up and be honestly racist. The Demoncrats were not less racist han the Republicans.
How does your statement lead to the conclusion that the democrats are not less racist than the republicans? What in the world.

And those veterans need to stop their dumb ass hate speech.

McCain's attack ad worked here, but not in the way he intended. I made another donation to the Obama campaign

Yeah, I'm a student and have little money. I donated $250. I would do far more if I could.

McCain's attack was got me to donate time today to help get a load of elderly folks registered to vote. Of course, I let them know that McCain wants to privatize Social Security and plans to cut Medicare benefits as part of his health care plan. I guess I'll be helping take them to the polls on election day.

So, how is insisting on answers about his relationship with Ayers "going negative?" I thought Obama has told us he's "just a guy in my neighborhood" and downplayed his association. To me, it's not going negative, but rather insisting on answers that we wouldn't want to find out AFTER the election that were something other than what Obama has told us so far.

The problem with Obama is he believes he should be insulated somehow from any and all questions----about his 20 year mentor pastor, about his association with a KNOWN domestic terrorist who is also a big socialist. Like it or not---these are legitimate questions and I think many people do NOT think Obama has been upfront about them. And he's certainly not very believable in the answers he does give.

#1, Obama has answered the question: he's said he's not friends with Ayers.

#2, It's classic "guilt by association" -- and in this case, not even very close association. The Rezko connection has more legs than the Ayers one.

If McCain has something specific to accuse Obama of, let him say it. But saying he "pals around" with "terrorists" is both a lie and an attempt to tar Obama for with insinuation.

http://factcheck.barackobama.com/fac...on_attacks.php

Chicago Sun Times: Obama's Connection To Ayers Is A "Phony Flap". The Chicago Sun-Times wrote in an editorial, "But Ayers, it is also true to say, has since followed in the footsteps of the great Chicago social worker Jane Addams, crusading for education and juvenile justice reform. His 1997 book, A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court, has been praised for exposing how Cook County's juvenile justice system all but eliminates a child's chance for redemption. Is Barack Obama consorting with a radical? Hardly. Ayers is nothing more than an aging lefty with a foolish past who is doing good. And while, yes, Obama is friendly with Ayers, it appears to be only in the way of two community activists whose circles overlap. Obama's middle name is Hussein. That doesn't make him an Islamic terrorist. He stopped wearing a flag pin. That doesn't make him unpatriotic. And he's friendly with UIC Professor William Ayers. That doesn't make him a bomb thrower. Time to move on to Phony Flap 6,537,204." [Chicago Sun-Times, 3/3/08]

Of course, you will say... THAT'S JUST FROM OBAMA'S SITE! But you, want him to answer.. there is your answer.

The whole Reverend Wright thing has been blown completely out of proportion. Sorry, but you got nothing there. He may have a few extreme views but that does not mean Obama has adopted them. So, give it a rest. It's not that the questions shouldn't be asked, it's that they HAVE been asked and answered and there is nothing substantial there.... so give it up.

McCain is wallowing in the slime of his campaign.

I can't disagree with this thread in any way. Negative as your total platform will result in your own self destruction. I think this election is over.
