Default Poll: 59% don't think Palin is qualified

In a new poll, fully 59% of respondents don't think Sarah Palin is qualified to be *vice* president, much less president:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/31/us...ss&oref=slogin

Quote:
A growing number of voters have concluded that Senator John McCain’s running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, is not qualified to be vice president, weighing down the Republican ticket in the last days of the campaign, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

All told, 59 percent of voters surveyed said Ms. Palin was not prepared for the job, up nine percentage points since the beginning of the month. Nearly a third of voters polled said the vice-presidential selection would be a major factor influencing their vote for president, and those voters broadly favor Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee.

And in a possible indication that the choice of Ms. Palin has hurt Mr. McCain’s image, voters said they had much more confidence in Mr. Obama to pick qualified people for his administration than they did in Mr. McCain.
Even worse for McCain:

Quote:
The increase in the number of voters who said Ms. Palin was not prepared was driven almost entirely by Republicans and independents.
And just to spell out what a toll the negative campaigning has taken on this country:

Quote:
a growing number of them called it “extremely important” that their candidate win the election. Roughly half of each candidate’s supporters said they were “scared” of what the other candidate would do if elected.
Thanks, partisans.

This poll isn't the only one saying things like this.
http://www.heraldtribune.com/article...70358/0/SPORTS

Nationally, Palin is the only pres/veep candidate whose unfavorables are now higher than her favorables, with 51 percent viewing her unfavorably -- including 40 percent who view her "strongly" unfavorably.

Palin would be the big change in a McSame admin. The fundie would be the VP this time.

Her choice was a monumental blunder. She is inarticulate and poorly informed, undercuts McCain's "experience" argument, appeals to a narrow band of right-wing evangelicals, and is not from a swing state. His decision to pick her rather than Romney, Ridge or Crist raised questions about McCain's judgment. This could have been a much different race if McCain had picked someone else for VP.

So will we have the Palin Effect, offsetting the Bradley Effect? Let's hope so.

I'm shocked 41% believe she is qualified or aren't sure.

Yeah. They must have bumped their heads or have not watched TV nor read any news nor read anything on the internet. It's clear that she is a nutter and not ready for this task.
