That's because Democrats have always had that parental attitude towards blacks.....as in "since you're incapable, we'll take care of you." They also have a kind of "we own you, so don't be stepping off the plantation" mentality as well. Examples: they were quick to call J.C. Watts, a former black Congressman....a "token." I've also had Democrats tell me that Powell is mistreated by this administration......as if Powell's not a strong man who can take care of himself. And I won't even repeat some of the things they've said about Condi Rice. This is ALL because they believe that ALL blacks think alike and couldn't really be conservative/Republicans. Why do you think all the Democrat politicians appear in all-black churches on the week-ends before all the elections telling them that Republicans are trying to prevent them from voting? It's to keep them right where they want them.

Problem is.......more and more are catching on......

In the relative scheme of history, blacks voting democratic is not that long of a period. Prior to the 1960 election, the majority of blacks voted Republican. MLK was close to endorcing RMN in 1960, but switched and endorced JFK. This was the first time blacks voted majority democratic. Blacks voting Republican is actually more the norm than the exception, except for the past 40 or so years. During this time, demos have entrenched their power by keeping more and more people dependent on government. The more people dependent on government, the better able they are of increasing ther power, while at the same time, ensuring their re-election.

It's simply a dirty little scheme, designed to keep as many people beholding to government, and in return, people voting for the ones (demos) to whom they are dependent.

I'm still trying to get over the racism of calling a highly educated and experienced black woman a "black baby" (reference to tar baby I'm thinking).

Yikes.

I certainly wouldn't want to be in such a position of endorsing, so boldly, such a racist perception about a strong, educated, professional black woman.

Kinda creepy, really, how the left feels no shame about endorsing racism when it suits their purposes...like defaming someone who's about 300 times smarter than they are, for starters.

What makes this new tenant trashy? Besides being the living embodiment of the ghetto culture? Perhaps it's owning a pit bull (how pathetically stereotypical is that?) which is allowed to run free in the neighborhood with no control in an area with many small children (no fenced yard, either). Perhaps it's renting a property that rents for approximately $1200 a month (high in our area), a 3 bedroom home in a nice neighborhood, and then refusing to mow the lawn for months, and neglecting all other aspects of caring for the property, including leaving trash all over the place and in the yard. Perhaps it's parking one's several vehicles all over the yard, versus in the driveway or garage. Perhaps it's being the living embodiment of the stereotypes that all too many whites in this area have about blacks (something that our black neighbors have told us that they deeply resent seeing in their neighborhood).

Such behaviors, which don't just affect the person engaging in them, but have the added benefit of bringing down the property values of those around you and endangering their children, is how I define the term "trash."

Similarly, the white trash family that recently moved out of the neighborhood, wasn't particularly well-liked either. Perhaps it was the rampant drug use by mom and dad, in the presence of their many, barefooted, dirty, and raggedly clothed children that helped to define them as trash. Or the many police visits to their home for domestic violence issues. Or, the fact that their home and yard were poorly maintained. Or, the fact that their children were undisciplined hellions who weren't parented or cared for adequately.

I felt great sympathy for their children. I felt little sympathy for the parents, who apparently had no interest in taking care of the home that they'd probably spent at least $200K for, or taking care of the multiple purebred pets that they bought, usually for $300 or up (each), and then neglected/abused (all pets in question died terrible deaths as a result of these people's neglect). Or the multiple children they'd bred, but had no apparent interest in actually raising/parenting. Such behavior identifies human trash, in my opinion.

See, I don't feel so critical of people who can't AFFORD to take care of things. But, if you can afford to live in my neighborhood, you can afford a lawn service to care for your property, decent CLEAN clothes for your children, and decent food for your children. It's a matter of caring, not a matter of being able to afford something. These people have lived like trash not because they had no other alternative, but because THEY CHOOSE TO.

Sorry to sound so harsh, but I can't help wishing for a gom jabbar at times.
