Default James Hansen - Godfather of Global Warming- World will End in 5 Months

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/environmen...m-hansen-obama

    January 2009

Barack Obama has only four years to save the world. That is the stark assessment of Nasa scientist and leading climate expert Jim Hansen who last week warned only urgent action by the new president could halt the devastating climate change that now threatens Earth. Crucially, that action will have to be taken within Obama's first administration,

Only the US now had the political muscle to lead the world and halt the rise, Hansen said. Having refused to recognise that global warming posed any risk at all over the past eight years, the US now had to take a lead as the world's greatest carbon emitter and the planet's largest economy. Cap-and-trade schemes, in which emission permits are bought and sold, have failed, he said, and must now be replaced by a carbon tax that will imposed on all producers of fossil fuels. At the same time, there must be a moratorium on new power plants that burn coal - the world's worst carbon emitter.

Well all we sane people have to do is wait until January and all the chicken Little crowd will have to crumple their tin-foil hats and go home, assuming we are not in the runaway cinder-burn Hansen predicted in the next 5 months (fair bet, I'll take it).

If only it were true...but there will be new Jim Hansens, and plenty of tin foil caps to go around for the moonbats of the world....
"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."

True believers, zealots, of whatever stripe or background, do not react to bad forecasts, busted predictions, historical precedent, logic, critical thinking, or even the laws of physics, mathematics, or reality. They believe. They see what they wish to see, and discount that which does not reinforce their belief. They have reasons for their belief, however fanciful they may be, and that is enough. Hansen believes. Peak oilers believe. UFO abductees believe. The Pope believes. It does not matter WHAT they believe, but knowing that they DO alerts someone to the fact that there isn't really any point in debating them, or arguing with them, or anything, because it does not matter. They believe, and for them, that is good enough.

Maybe he got his epiphany wrong. Maybe he meant that Obama has only 4 years to destroy the US and ultimately the world. yeah. I think that's what he meant.

I am just hoping his hockey stick showed Obama only had 4 years to be president, that is a prediction I can go with......

In this case, mamooth, the science is nothing without these cult leaders falsifying the data and manuevering themselves into positions of influence, power and cash.

Elmer, you neglected to back up your cult conspiracy theory about how thousands of climate scientists made doomsday predictions that didn't come true. Nor have you addressed your complete failure to understand what a tipping point is, and how that caused you to wildly misrepresent Hansen.

Since you ran from those challenges, everyone will correctly take that as your admission that you have no idea of what you're talking about. Which means you'll retreat to your standard evasion tactic of crying about insults while throwing insults.
