Default A serious question

Recently, there has been a series of unfortunate environmental events, including the cyclone in Burma, tornadoes in the Midwest, earthquakes in China, Florida in state of emergency, etc. Is it a coincidence? I cant imagine it would be anything else, but is it a terribly unfortunate coincidence?

God punishing men? I don't think so.

First off, Florida is not in a state of emergency. The are two subdivisions in Daytona under voluntary evacuation and it's somewhat worse in Brevard County but nothing remotely close to the fires of 1998. There have always been tropical cyclones in southeast Asia and elsewhere. There have always been tornadoes in the Midwest and elsewhere. Likewise with earthquakes. The whole reason this planet is habitable is the dynamic weather and other processes that occasionally bite us real hard. To try to read anything metaphysical into events like this seems very superstitious to me.

Default It is what it is

There have always been Earthquakes, there have always been floods, hugh storm formations, tidal waves, volcanos ect. ect. Long before man ever came to being, there was alway global warming, global cooling, forrest fires mass extinctions ect. ect. Only those who are so arrogant about their own self importance seem to think that man can or could have anything to do with, or effect the powers that, Mother Nature has had since the beginning of the planet.

It is not anything unusual. I don't even think it is any sort of coincidence. If anything - it is simply the fact that there are more 24 hour news channels now that need stuff to fill the gaps. You hear more about disasters now that would have been relegated to page 10 of the newspaper 20 years ago. (Mind you - I don't know what you are talking about in the mid west and Florida - I don't think that made the news here)

Earthquakes happen all the time. Tropical cyclones happen all the time. What is unusual is that the 2 recently have hit heavily populated areas. I guess you could call it an unfortunate coincidence - but it just probability really.

A better question. How could one be so arrogant as to ignore science?

It's George Bush and KKKarl Rove. They are trying to disenfranchise the poor democrat voter to help out McCain.

What can I do to help????

I know, I can provide them with jobs then they will no longer be poor and they'll automatically vote for Mccain!! The only downside is that I'll have to fire them when they go on a crack binge and don't show up to work for 3 days....

The upside is that they'll be on that binge during the election and won't be able to put down their crack pipe long enough to walk to the voting booth....

McCain wins either way!
