Yes, like all religions (except perhaps, Buddhism and Zoroastrianism), Islam has had it's dark periods. Of course, they haven't yet caught up with Christianity when it comes to bloodshed and torture but they sure seem to be trying.

Religious violence is nothing new to history.

I'm all for freedom of religion and free speech. I just wanted to drop in and say the following:

Muhammad was a known illiterate child rapist that was killed by his own wife.

And, finally:

Incorrect, this is not agreed upon. He did take a captured woman to add to his collection of wives however it was another jewish woman who had also been captured into slavery who poisoned his lamb. But I heard it took two or three years before he died, so whos to say. Him being unable to read or write is one thing which made his words appear so majestic.
