Gee lets talk about the issue of containment working, no WMD's, the assertion by Colon powel to this effect and the fact that Al qaida was not in Iraq prior to us bringing them there...
Also if we are going to attack everyone who disobeys a UN order we best attack Israel next! Ted the drunk? No Ted the koolaid drinker? Yes |

That intel came from the French, and the EU also agreed it was legit. If there were no WDM's how did all those kurds die? See, that's why your team can't win the Whitehouse my friend.

There's no surprise that the Sunnis would be turning against al Queda. People generally want to live in peace. The only reason the average Sunni would work with al Queda is out of fear that the Shiite-led government would oppress them. The government doesn't have to do much to compete for a peaceful plan when its rival is al Queda. Al Queda is resorting to scare tactics, hoping that it can "punish" Sunnis. This will likely only backfire on them... And good.
I only hope that the government does indeed give the Sunnis an equitable share and that the two can agree on policies that are not segregationalist or just unfair. The Shiites and Sunnis have a lot in common and they managed to be friends up until recently. It's always a good thing when more people in the Middle East turn against the terrorists and toward a peaceful government... but there are still some major issues with the government's ability to police its own country and the violence on the streets. Other than that, we really have no purpose there now. It's only a question of which will work better- the "sink or swim" method or the "nanny army" method.

Well this is the start of what you need. You'll never accomplish anything in Iraq till you get the three factions united together for their liberty and freedom. It's been the major flaw in the whole "spreading democracy" (well besides invading sovereign nations which didn't pose a threat to our own sovereignty) from the start. Hopefully this will spread, if I were the Iraqis I would be pretty fed up with the state of things, the bungled occupation, and the continued insurgent violence enough to wanna band together with my fellow countrymen to bring about an end to it all.
