Default Now Bush wants independence for Kosovo.

Now that it is relatively quiet in that region Bush wants to stir things up.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19149972/

He is taking Albania's side over Serbia? That is certainly going to (*)(*)(*)(*) off the Serbs not to mention Putin. I thought he wanted cooperation with Russia. This guy is a walking catastrophy.

Default Huh?

Bush has always wanted that. What are you talking about? It's nothing new.

BTW, Dems were all on that side as well back when Bill Clinton was president. Seems strange that you seem to be switching sides now that Bush is speaking out FOR it.

Or maybe it's the "hero's welcome" that Bush got there that you object to?

"First U.S. President in Albania
By TERENCE HUNT, AP White House Correspondent
27 minutes ago

TIRANA, Albania - President Bush, enthusiastically welcomed as the first U.S. president in this former communist nation, served notice Sunday he is running out of patience with Russia's objections to independence for neighboring Kosovo.

"Sooner rather than later you've got to say `Enough's enough — Kosovo is independent,'" Bush said, telling Albanians what they wanted to hear. He said independence was a certainty.

"Cannons boomed salutes from mountains overlooking the capital. Huge banners proclaimed "Proud to be Partners," and billboards read "President Bush in Albania Making History."

At home, Bush's job approval rating stands at its all-time low. But here, Prime Minister Sali Berisha said Bush was Albania's "greatest and most distinguished guest we have ever had in all times."

Throngs of people grasped Bush's hands, arms and fingers on the streets of Fushe Kruje, a small town near the airport where he stopped to chat in a cafe with business owners. Unused to such adoring crowds in America, Bush reveled in the attention. He kissed women on the cheek, posed for pictures and signed autographs. Someone reached out and rubbed his gray hair."

"Albania has eagerly embraced democracy and idolizes the United States. Three stamps have been issued featuring Bush's picture and the Statue of Liberty, and the street in front of parliament has been renamed in his honor."

This has been in the work for years under the UN.

Its not new at all and blaming Bush for "destabilizing the region" by supporting it shows how ignorant you are of the entire regions affairs.

Worthless.

The UN is not the end all of anything..in fact its arguably irrelevant as Kosovo can declare independence with or without it.
You do know the world worked just fine prior to the UN ever being thought of

Problem is (and I know of no way to avoid) is the region is headed towards another war with Kosovo being the spark. One that can very easily and rapidly turn into a regional/continental/global war. Depending on how involved the major powers get.

I don't think Greece will be able to sit it out for long. Especially if Bulgaria uses it to start meddling in Macedonia.

Default Bush? Spreading Democracy? Freedom?

Bush searched house by house alongside Britain in Iraq
(See Freedom from illegal search and seizure without proper reasonable suspicion)
(See U.S. history during the British oppressive rule)

He tries to constantly get congress to give more and more power to the presidency (See American democratic checks and balances)

He uses a thing called homeland security as a reason to expect us to sacrifice our rights to privacy.(See wiretapping without going through proper channels first)

(See so many other examples during his current reign)

It would seem that before George Bush can even attempt to spread Freedom and democracy elsewhere, . . .He should first learn what true freedom and democracy is from studying his own countries Constitution, declaration of independence, bill of rights, etc

This guy has no business spreading our ideals of freedom and democracy anywhwere. . . .He doesn't even understand what a democracy is or means.

Default America's Idiot in Kosovo

Kosovo has always belong to Serbia and is where their former capital was back in the medieval days and was the cradle of the creation of Serbia. What Milosevic was trying to do was to get Kosovo back for Serbia and make the land livable again.
Serbia is christian and too many Albanians which are muslims have crossed over the line and taken over the bottom of Serbia and made it so dangerous that no Serbian christian will go down there let alone live there. Sniper bullets fly everywhere and so much mafia-like crime operate amongst the Albanians in Kosovo.
I can see what Milosevic was trying to do and it would be just like the Mexicans taking over Texas and making it dangerous for non-Mexicans to live down there. If we ever come to that dilemma in America and we all try to move all the Mexicans back over the Rio Grande and back into Mexico then we can't because we didn't let Serbia get rid of the criminalistic Muslims that were taking away the bottom of Serbia. I don't agree with Clinton messing with it also and certainly don't go for Bush holding out the red cape at Putin and antagonizing Russia over it. Muslim countries demand for everyone to be muslims to live there and there is no reason that Serbia shouldn't be able to demand the same and to make it safe to live anywhere in Serbia.
