Default Afghanistan Threatens to Invade Pakistan

This is going to get worse before it gets better...

Quote:
"If these people in Pakistan give themselves the right to come and fight in Afghanistan, as was continuing for the last 30 years, so Afghanistan has the right to cross the border and destroy terrorist nests, spying, extremism and killing, in order to defend itself, its schools, its peoples and its life,” Mr. Karzai said.

[...]

The prime minister of Pakistan, Yousaf Raza Gilani, said the border was too long to prevent people from crossing, "even if Pakistan puts its entire army along the border."

"Neither do we interfere in anyone else's matters, nor will we allow anyone to interfere in our territorial limits and our affairs," The Associated Press quoted Gilani as having said.

If they want to blow each other up, let them. As long as they don't threaten our countries, they can do whatever they like with other, as far as I'm concerned.

Its too bad the rest of the world, who have promised to support this particular missions are coming up woefully short on the promises.Folks want to speak about the length of time and difficulty in Afghanistan. The same folks like to blame Iraq for diverting resources. In reality its the gutlessness of great many other countries failing to provide what they agreed to and allow participation of their military in only limited situations that have drawn this out way too long.Pakistans inability and unwillingness to confront the elephant in the room is what is making the Afghans worried.

Good for Karzai.I imagine this is a ploy to perhaps open up dialogue but at least it calls attention to an issue which the Pakistanis seem to want to brush under the rug.

At some point with or without Paks permission a large offensive will take place in the so called 'tribal regions'...most likely by coalition forces not Pak.

It will definitely get worse before it gets better because theres no 'peace treaty' that will make the Taliban stand down.Such 'treaties' only serve as chances to re-up and prepare for the next 'spring offensive'.Force is what these people understand. To wipe them out as a functioning organization is the only way to end the conflict for good.

Why should other countries provide troops?

Good. It's about time Afghanistan paid Pakistan back for the death and destruction they wrought upon Afghanistan through their backing of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and then the Taliban. I hope they completely destroy Pakistani ISI while they're at it.

Karzai is nothing but an American puppet and a traitor to the Afghan people.

Someday the Afghans will be back in control of their country and hang Karzai for treason!!

Osama is the real traitor, he caused this if it wasn't for Osama the US wouldn't have attacked Afgahnistan. Don't commit 9/11 and you don't get invaded.

Ahmed Shah Massoud would have done a much better job than Karzai. And Massoud was actually given the title of National Hero of Afghanistan.

And the real traitors were the Taliban and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
