Hello PF member reading this in the future. Right now in America a growing number of Americans are holding our breaths in hopes something (almost anything would be welcomed short of full blown civil insurrection - which some even think is possible) will deliver us from the dirty, deceitfulness and incompetence of the second Obama term as POTUS.

Anyway, this article caught my attention and, as I've come to personally feel a growing admiration for the young, articulate former prosecutor, college debate champ and first term Texas Congressional firebrand (who delivered a SMACKDOWN to Harry Reid the other day when Reid called Cruz a 'schoolyard bully'), I was concerned to learn his birth in Calgary, Canada might disqualify him for a presidential run.

Even though his mom is a natural born citizen from the state of Delaware, his Dad is Cuban. That, along with his Canadian birthplace left some doubt in my mind about his citizenship qualifications.

Well, I was relieved to see this article confirming he is, indeed, eligible to serve as our President.

Hopefully as soon as 2016!

Well, future posters, we hope to be there among you in 2016 rooting Cruz or whoever the NON-LIBERAL candidate is, on to victory in November.

Cruz IS eligible.

That's all I wanted to make known here in public forum for all to see and be able to refer to when this day is but a fond memory.

Anyway, PK here, signing off from the 18th of May 2013.

Good luck to us all.

How To Break The Monopoly That The Democrats and Republicans Hold

I know that most of you guys are Ron Paul supporters who would love to see the Libertarian power have a major roll in today's politics. Unfortunately, you guys are NEVER going to take power for one simple reason. The current political parties have a law that states that the only political parties that can participate in the presidential debates are those that are supported by 15% or more of voters. In my opinion, this law should be considered UNCONSTITUTIONAL because it allows the same political parties to maintain control virtually forever. To solve this problem, all you have to do is bring that number down to 5%. This change would break the monopoly that the current political parties hold and will give them more of an incentive to fight FOR THE PEOPLE. Not just for their own political ambitions. More people will become aware of what the alternative parties stand for and will transfer their donations over to them. Many of the national media outlets that currently only cover the Democrats and Republicans will be forced to cover other parties. This will result in new parties holding seats in Congress or even the presidency. If you want to create real change, you must solve this one single issue.

Hi all,

Hi all,

I have decided to do all of my own research for the upcoming elections, although it is in 2016 I still want to start as it will take some time. I do not want my information coming from 3rd parties ie CNN or FOX.

I want to do my own research on current politicians and candidates. Information like:
- What bills they have voted on
- What is their overall policy history and activity
- What are their beliefs on special interest topics (ie Abortion)
- What level of influence has lobbyists made on them - to what extent are they swayed by lobbyists wishing
- Who is funding their campaigns, who is donating? (what does it entail)
- How well do they listen to the people they are representing (thoughts on how to gauge this?)

Obviously some of this information can be found on the politicians website/through .gov websites however some I believe are more difficult to find such as lobbyist influence, and campaign funding - is this all public information?

Also I am trying to find a way to gauge the last bullet point

Thanks!
