Jiyuu, just as an FYI, several people have added khan to their "ignore" list today alone, so take what that poster says with a very large grain of salt.

I'm finding that when I match up many of the complaints in "feedback" against their actual posts, there is a direct relationship between the two...

FWIW - I used to moderate at a different website, until I burned out on it and took a long self-imposed sabbatical.

Sometimes when a thread was derailed or hijacked, we'd let it alone and see where it would lead to. Most times it ended in chaos, but once in a while it would turn into something interesting that had nothing to do with the original topic.

It's kind of like getting off the interstate and taking the back roads. Usually it slows you down and is a waste of time, but occasionally you stumble across something that's really interesting!

we might have rules about trolling and insults, but we don't seem to have a clear definition of what these entail!

i am amazed at things that are left to stand by moderators, while other far more innocuous posts on the same thread - and even relevant posts - are deleted by mods.

I think this reflects a lack of consistency in how we understand things - its not necessarily a fault of the mods.

I am sick of being called a terrorist sympathizer and similar, and the term antisemite is offensive. It is clearly a lie, and anyone who looks at my posting on a range of subjects (rather than the limited range of threads those who use this label on me tend to focus on) can see that.

If its OK to infer I am a liar and a suporter of terrorism - then why can't I give tit for tat?

why is nothing done when I report these posts?

why is it OK for myself, and other posters with similar views to my own, to receive infractions for responding in kind to these posters - whose posts remain despite numerous reports?

Personal attacks are supposedly against the forum rules.

can we have a list of personal attacks that are deemed to be against the forum rules because at the moment it is really hard for me to grasp what exactly IS a personal attack according to the forums rules.

I have seen examples of harassment here that would warrant disciplinary action in the workplace, yet are left standing, while other examples which would not even raise an eyebrow are regarded as infractions.

I agree I report things and nothing gets done about them then a mod comes along and deletes post I have made and says there is an insult in it and there is not. Something very fishy going on on this forum.

OK Beevee I got it but listen. There are people that take it to heart and it does bother them, there is no reason for that. Real good people leave because of it, so fine you and I can take it, but some others cant. So when you report you are doing a service for everyone. I rather have a good person on here than a loud mouth.
