I doubt it. I think the program automatically gives you that for certain words. If you ask a mod, a mod might be able to change it back. But I don't think we're qualified to make the distinction or willing to take the risk.

The board owner loads the censor message. When the automatic censor kicks in, that's the message that replaces the profane language. It used to say something like "Beep" but that was pretty boring if you ask me.
It is the board owner's belief that one can communicate an idea without using profanity. The board owner has told me that on many occasions in real life, they have used those words. This doesn't make it permissible. This site is privately owned. Users claiming 1st ammendment rights may exercise them all they want. However, this doesn't carry over into a privately owned political forum where the terms of use were agreed upon before being accepted as a member.

The law would hold that the First Amendment right under discussion here is actually that of the owner of the web site and not the visiting posters. In the same way, an individual has no constitutional right to have his/her letter published in the local fish wrap.

Would a Mod be so kind as to delete my Post in "Humor & Satire" in the Thread "Jokes"?
I forgot the punch line has a few "choice" words in it, and became aware after I posted it. I have edited out the "punch line" for now, so there is no longer a warning in the Post, but without the punch line it isn't very funny. Thanks, Gaar |
