For me it appears, that the off-topic forum has recently been filled with spam and advertising.. It is actually somewhat annoying.. I don't know.. This is rather a new phenomenon.. I wonder if it produced by bots for there are some mechanisms for preventing that kind of spamming..

I'd also like to thank them for doing it on the holiday weekend when I'd much rather be skimming posts than engaging in heavy-duty moderating.

Don't know why we've had a rash of them lately.... but we delete them as fast as we notice them. If they get really obnoxious we'll start blocking IP numbers.
