Yeah, I didn't fully understand kaladrew's banning, probably because I mostly ignored her.

Kaladrew was obviously a man.

But it looked pretty clear that the conservatives thought that Righty was somehow benign and improving.

This one didnt. Oh wait...Righty kept calling me a liberal. So maybe you are right after all.

I dont know if he needed to be banned, but I did pretty much ignore everything he posted. I didnt take him seriously.

It occurred to me that maybe we are blind to those cancers on our own side of the spectrum.

There is no one on my side of the spectrum. I have crossed swords with every person on this forum, with the possible exception of Merlin-X. And I am not entirely sure about him either.

The cons saw kaladrew the way I saw Righty.

I didnt. I took Kaladrew more seriously than Righty.

Kaladrew added next to nothing to the forum, while actively subtracting from it with her preoccupations with JP5, Barney, perceived moderator unfairness and other rules issues. On top of that, most of her posts were borderline trolling, generally consisting of attacks on others.

She was banned as a long-term combination of trolling and spam.

We have a pretty big tolerance when it comes to posters who positively contribute. A generally substantive poster will not get banned for the occasional personal attack, troll or other rules violation. But we lose patience with posters who do nothing BUT make valueless posts.

Even then, both kaladrew and Righty were allowed to remain for a very, very long time. This was not a snap decision on our part.

And as bad as Righty was, he wasnt in the same league of annoying as Myopicmouse and Rikitz were...if Myopicmouse wasnt banned, Righty shouldnt have been banned either.

It does appear that most people see little humor in banning jokes right after two posters have actually been banned....

...the mods should consider visiting other online fora of a political nature, picking out participants to the debates and banning them pre-emptively, there, before they ever get this far! How else can we feel safe here - Force is a nervous wreck and I just shat myself (again)...

Speaking of banned, was Catzmeow banned? I havnt seen her on here in forever.

I saw EuP on briefly in a peripheral thread a while back. But he only posted once...he didnt even attempt to participate in the big orgy of white-supreamist threads we had on here a few weeks ago. Is he sick or something?

Think of it as a kind of a 'pre-emptive' banning....

We learned something from W here. We are going to ban people for posts they may make in the future. Even if they really never indicated any desire to spam us. We just can't take that chance. That's why Amepro needs to go. He could very well, at some time in the future, spam us to death. I'm frankly scared to death over it. Luckily, banning does not cost hundreds of billions of dollars. It's a service we do for free. The alternative to banning Amepro is far worse than banning him.

Who says he wasn't or wouldn't have been? We let Righty post to Guru status before saying enough is enough.

On a related note, there were many posts deleted so fast very people saw them. So when people say "he wasn't that bad" keep in mind those were the posts that were allowed to stay.

IMO, with the exception of maybe two people on this forum, we all have a touch of troll in us.

"A touch" is fine. A majority is not.

I cant imagine catzmeow being banned; she was a great debater, intelligent, and had a good sense of humour. They couldnt have? But who knows, whatwith this new jackboot 'moderation'...
