I can`t believe that Raytri and Stekim don`t harbour fond reminisences of their fruitful discussions on moderating abuses.

Of course the moderators here don`t really welcome free and open discussion of their methods and Senax locked the thread after only 40 pages or so, just when Gaar was getting into his stride.

I think I`ll go find that thread...so I can enjoy it all over again.

Oh, yeah.....that`s one classic thread
Shall we talk about the Forum Rules of insulting other posters?

Regards,
Gaar

I do know what HYPOCRITE means. Do YOU?
All this sophistry has only led to this thread indeed becoming a running gag at the expense of a poster. And participated in and tolerated by multiple mods.
Yep, as you ALL coninue to do nothing about it but participate...

Nice that you all understand your Hypocrisy however.

Not so nice that you don't do anything about it.

Regards,
Gaar

This embodies the "be careful what you wish for" thing.
But seriously, Gaar, I'm glad to see you're still around. I'm glad we haven't lost you to WoW like so many other unfortunates.

Gaar, you do realize that this forum is free (in a monetary sense), do you not? Moreover, if you don't like the site, you may go elsewhere. I was once on a forum on which in any way bothering the sole moderator meant arbitrary disciplinary action. I typed some angry messages and posts and left. You are free to do the same here if you think that this site is unfair to you.

So you believe it is wrong to expect them to enforce the Forum Rules, even amongst themselves?

Yes, I understand there are other Forums, I Moderate one of them, where do you think I spend most of my posting time?

But regardless, you seem to think that people should just put up with the abuses when it is the Moderators participating, yet are quick to point out others when they abuse.

Why is that you suppose?

Regards,
Gaar

First, I recognize that I technically have no rightful say over what happens on this forum, since I am not paying for its upkeep. Second, I am free to point out abuses, and the moderators are free to ignore me. If we were shareholders, in a sense, of the site, then there would be reason for genuine protest (if rules were being ignored, that is), but we are not. The forum is a gift and the moderators are volunteers.

IMO, Gaar, the only reason the "let's do Gaar impressions" portion of the thread was allowed is because everyone assumed you were long gone. Hence the "Posters I miss" thread title.

Are you back to stay a bit, or is this a drive-by?

So the frequency of my visitations and postings is going to be a determining factor as to whether you are going to do your job?

Regards,
Gaar

Edit: And you wonder why the level of Moderation has been a large part of the discussions I have had here?

And it continues, unabated...

The Moderators have, once again, condoned the bashing of another poster on this Site.

Seems to be par for the course around here.

Regards,
Gaar
