Hey mods - what the heck is up with the PF server(s)?

This is getting very annoying now, it's like, they're down more than they're up.

Do you guys need a new server? Maybe I can arrange to get you one (for free, of course).

Sorry, non, but we mods are as completely in the dark as the rest of you. The administrator doesn't make a real effort to communicate with us. Last I heard, the problem was she was having trouble finding a computer geek to help her, but that sounds like a lame excuse to me. Yeah, we all know how few and far between these IT guys are .

Anyway, you can pm her if you want and send your offer directly to her. Her username is politicalforum and listed at the top of the page with the mods when you click on a specific forum. I have been told, though, that she doesn't read pm's.

In the end, it's not really the server that is the biggest problem so much as a disinterested administrator.

It has improved since you left a few weeks ago, but that's probably only because about half our members walked. The server can probably handle the site better now that there's less traffic.

For the moment. It's gone through periods like this before, but it doesnt last. Thats why I am still not back very much.

I guess thats the downside of relying on donations for a forum...when the donations dry up, so does the forum.

The server, or whatever it is, SUCKS.

It just took me ONE HOUR to post a reply -

Mods - SOMEONE - Senax, you seem to have time on your hands - GET THIS THING FIXED, PLEASE???

A couple of weeks back I actually offered (via JP) to buy this site a brand new server, if they were having trouble. But the word I got back is, "the owner is often absent and doesn't pay much attention to the site", and so I promptly withdrew the offer, 'cause if the owner don't care, then neither do I.

But yeah, I'm about ready to walk too.

I don't have time to a) sit here and wait a god(*)(*)(*)(*) hour for a post to complete, and b) go back and edit posts repeatedly 'cause they've been multi'd by the errant server or errand software or whatever the POS is that's causing this problem, and c) try to navigate through other peoples' multiple posts....

This situation is completely ridiculous. No self-respecting web site would let this go on for more than a micro-second.

Get thiS FIXED, 'kay?
