catz, i am waiting for a defense of 12th retroactively citing TB for violations, using the examples provided in this thread ... identified by TB as examples of uses which had gotten by the censor
why did 12th feel the need to do that?
sure 12th was embarrassed by her inconsistency but why did she then have to be so petty to go back and issue citations? as i see it, it was a shot across the bow to TB saying don't expose me ... and that is an abuse of her mod authority

Only if they were intentionally ignored. I would suggest that due to the amount of threads and activity on this forum, they likely weren't noticed at the time they were posted.

But, having brought them to our attention, it would have been irresponsible and inconsistent for 12th to ignore them.

After all, I can't very well cite PI for insults, and make you laugh, if I let you get away with the same behavior, now, can I?

Furthermore, you don't seem very upset about my edits of PI. Why is that? A little moral consistency here would be nice. You can't very well cackle at my edits of PI while whinging about being edited yourself.

The moderation of this forum depends partially on the users understanding the TOS and reporting posts when they need attention. Is the moderation at times inconsistent? Yes, and that is unlikely to change. Like it or not, it is unrealistic to imagine that the mods see every new post every day, and even more unrealistic to imagine that we are going to get together and discuss every potential edit. That is why the mod panel is made up of people scattered across the spectrum of perspectives. Again, this is why the moderation of this forum depends partially on you, the user, to understand the rules. That is why when you agree to participate according to the rules laid out in the TOS, you are expected to abide by them. As Raytri said, we prefer not to edit anything. As Java said, report posts if they need attention. As 12th said, we will try to be consistent. As Catz said, we will edit according to the rules regardless of how old a post is.

I do condemn that edit as a blatant insult. But since PI insulted me, I didn't argue about it in the thread. I simply commented on it.

Just because I use your insult to rib a you-know-what like PI, doesn't mean that I approve of the edit. I was just taking advantage of an opportunity. That doesn't mean you aren't a hypocrite.

And there is no way you can ever prove that. I think they were read, and ignored for being insignificant. But of course no mod is going to admit to that in this thread.
