I don't really care if people criticize us, as mods. We are just other users, and I've never considered myself all that well-behaved. I have no problem with the whining threads, but I do mock them occasionally. Usually, it depends on what I've dealt with that day. Because, truthfully, there are days when some of the members act like children. Some members are always cool. Others are always a pain in the ass. I'm not naming names.

If it gets totally out of hand, though, I have been known to lock a thread. And, a thread that makes direct insults specifically at a particular mod is going to go away, even if that mod is me (I am probably the least inclined to act when I am insulted versus other mods being insulted).

Some people will like me, others won't. I got over needing to be liked a while ago.

Just for the record. Nothing that I have posted in any of these anti mod threads should be considered criticizing of the mods. You people do a pretty dammed good job. I just think that the TOS should reflect the board moderation.

But that is hard to do when on a corp board with a CYA policy.

I have never had a single problem with any moderator here.

I remember when I first joined the boards a few years ago I was swearing a lot. Not at anyone just throwing in language here and there. I got a message politely asking me to tone it down just a little bit, I did it (even though I dont believe in censorship for language) and since then I have not been warned about anything.

As far as Billy Bob goes.....Dude just use the ignore button. You can ignore members here. Personally I like BB. Yeah his racial stuff is ridiculous and IMO not very funny, however he has every right to his opinion.

He isn't using "hate speech" I have never seen him post something about killing black people or anything like that. If he has, then yeah that would be a problem. However he simply holds a political point of view that I dont happen to agree with when it comes to race.

At least he is open about his racism. A Lot of people are closet racists.

Its not against the law to be a racist and to talk about it. Its unfortunate that people ARE racists, however IMO that is their loss. We shouldn't be banning the guy because he holds what is a pretty narrow view of things when it comes to race.

Im sure some people think some of my views are pretty crazy. I wouldn't like it if they were calling for me to be banned just because we disagree.

I say if he is bothering you, then you should just ignore him. Threatening to leave the boards though is kind of childish. If you want to leave then leave, if not then stay...But announcing it like that is silly in my opinion.

I love the mods

This has to be the most loosely moderated forums i've ever seen! It's brilliant and on the issue of politics it allows a very wide range of discussion which is critical to a descent conversation. I'm fine with it the way it is and i hope it doesn't change.

I happen to agree about the language issue. But them's the rules! The owner of the board made the rules and we are paid very well to enforce them.

Yeah, and thats totally fine.

The owner has every right to set up the rules how they see fit. Its like walking into someone else's home, if they dont want language then by all means dont use it.

If someone walks in my home and drops F Bombs left and right I dont care, but I certainly wouldnt go and use that language around my Grandma in her house lol.

Well, if we're going to start talking about houses. I am MUCH stricter in my house than the mods are here.

Anyone who even looks at a bed after it's made with the slightest intention of perhaps sitting on or even touching it will, before they know it, usually find themselves dangling off the floor in one of the many netted booby traps I have set up around the house. They're just low enough so that the dogs can have unfettered access to them once securely bound.

Works for me.
