You're a hypocrite

I rarely comment on forum rules and I have had my share of edits and warnings and such. Fair enough.

But one rule that gets repeated and enforced more than any other is 'name-calling'.

Interestingly, the one instance of name-calling that seems to be most common is almost unanimously ignored:

"You're a hypocrite".


I just wondered why.....

While you guys ponder this, I'll be making my regular, daily racist posts...

I try to avoid calling someone a hypocrite directly, though I do try to point out hypocritical arguments and/or obvious hypocrisy within a post. If you see this comment, though, report it, and we'll remove it.

If someone makes a post that is blatently hypocritical, I see nothing wrong with kindly reminding them of that fact.

I have someone who regularly called me ignorant while attempting to debate me. Each point I made he would counter with an argument and and insult like, you are ignorant, a liar, or something simular. I stopped arguing with him after a while cause it gets old. And I snitched on him and reported the posts, which of course the insults were deleted.

I think it really reflects badly on a person's argument no matter how good their argument may or may not be, if they are always reduced to an ad hominem attack (and they probably don't even realize they are doing it).
