Continued harassment of anyone by any user is grounds for being banned.

You violated rule 3, you harassed other users. As moderator, you do not have the right to harass anyone. I left the sister board because of GunnyL's harassment and double standards. I will not tolerate it from you.

p.s. Expecting posters to follow forum rules is NOT harassment. We take harassment seriously, as several users who have actually been harassed (ABNS, Amused to Death) could tell you.

The actual issues are trwofold, Catz.

1 -- When postings are iniatiated for the sole purpose of flame baiting/Trolling that immediately set about the task of spreading hatred, what should be the forum's proper response, and when posters openly advocate killing people based upon their sexuality, what should the response then be?



2 -- Once these postings appear, and peple outraged by the barbarity resond, why does the site take the position that it is those outraged by the hate who are the haters and not the one advocating the killing?

Nobody is playing "victim" here, Catz, and nobody is "whinging". All that I think peple want to know is why are the people who are defending against the hate being portrayed as the haters by this forum's moderation staff?

Perhaps if you could explain things without telling peole to "grow up', "stop whining" or other acts of derision, you might find them more willing to see your side of things.

Despite the large number of postings that have been censoerd - -all from those who object to the bigotry - -and none censored advocating, among otherthings, the killing of homosexuals -- I don't think the real issue here has to do with the niggly piggly interpretation of rules. It has to do with the action of mods who not only censor, but add their personal opinions while doing so, and do so in a way they portray those who object to the hate as being the haters.

Please stop acting like a toddler. It's embarrassing. The 12th is entitled to hold an opinion. BUT, it is her job to enforce the rules.

Sunni posted an (admittedly) offensive thread. Some of you took it as a carte blanche invitation to attack HIM, rather than his offensive ideas. That is always going to get your posts deleted or edited here.

You're new, so I'm going through this with some degree of patience, but I am losing patience with you quickly.

Attack Sunni's IDEAS, not SUNNI. Posts directed specifically at Sunni implying that he is mentally ill, a terrorist, etc. are a violation of forum rules. Sunni's offensive post is NOT.

We are rather libertarian here. We often let stupid, racist, misogynistic, and hate-laden posts stand, because we believe that such posts provide provocative discussion opportunities. However, when you personally insult such posters, and sink to their level, then YOU are the one who gets in trouble.

The purpose of rules and guidelines for the forum is to help create an environment that is inviting to as wide a spectrum of people as possible from all parts of the world, but that does not restrict the ability of users to express their political views, even if those views are inflammatory or unorthodox.
