Post Banning is as serious as it gets.

I am confused on a point here. I do not question the maude's rights to do what they do with anyone at any time as it is in the job description. I can disagree with maude action and seek a clarification or file a protest for a hearing on an issue, but what is up with maude's feeding into a personal battle and then banning a member?

I just saw a thread that I looked at and what struck me was how silly I thought it was.

Is there no check on the house taking the cards away and calling it a night? Do emotions and personal feelings guide the principles here?

just asking, but I would be curious what others think.

maudes: who gets to ban? and do you want to PM me rather than allow the group to hear what you have to say on this if anything?

Dante

Dante, Did you read these?

no place is successful or pleasant to visit if the rules rule. the maude process is subjective and that is how it is---we are all human. I have no complaints though my criticisms are many and are well rooted in a liberal philosophy.

context is everything

Are you saying that banning at PF is politically motivated?

I haven't even considered that. Why do you ask?

No, I am quite confident it is not. The mods are reasonably representative of all political persuasions and I know they discuss bannings [to some degree] amongst themselves before it happens. Strictly political bannings would not be tolerated at this forum.

strictly? so you are agreeing that political persuasions plays some part? hmmm. nothing wrong with that if it is laid out ahead of time.

but who bans...the admin? most reputable sites the maude squad cannot ban permanently and are often overruled.

who bans here and how?

Yes, from my short [but extensive] experience here, I am confident that political leanings do not play a role in bannings.

No reason to if it does not pertain.

You'd have to ask the Mods that question. It is only they who are the privileged inhabitants of the PF inner sanctum where such important and life changing decisions are made.
