Since when was there a ban on the word cock in this forum? What other non-censored words are banned?

It seems to me there should be some sort of set rule, rather than letting moderators determine it based upon their own definition of profanity.

There is a list of words the administrator has blocked from the site. Some mods feel that list is not enough. I thought the word cock was on it.

I don't think it is so much a ban on the word, but it's usage. If it's use is intrinsic to some witty, turgid prose, I do believe the mods give it some leeway, but if it is part of some woefully flacid argument, they may frown on it just a wee bit.

I think it's one of those words that the software misses because it falls into a grey area.

If you're talking about a Rhode Island Red rooster - use of the word is perfectly fine.

If you're talking about the thing between a man's legs - it's probably not.

If you're going to have words whose context can make them bannable, then you should logically make that list public. And probably in the rules.

I listen to "Handel On The Law" when he's on the radio on the weekends, and he's Jewish.

He uses the Yiddish word "schtupp" frequently. Someone will call in and say they loaned an ex-girlfriend $5000 without a written contract - can they sue her and get it back?
